Table - best surf conditions forecast for The Cove Cape May over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for The Cove Cape May over the next 16 days.
First off, I gotta be straight with you – this is a tough one. The whole 16-day window is a real struggle. There’s not a single day where the waves are worth paddling out for. The surf is just tiny, weak, and the conditions are mostly messy. We’re looking at a long, blank run here, which is a bit of a bummer, but it happens in this area.
Let’s walk through it. The whole period is plagued by very small swell, mostly under 2 ft, and the combined energy is almost always in the weak zone. The biggest swell we see is a tiny 4 ft on the afternoon of July 15th, but it’s coming from the S with a super short period of 5 seconds, so it’s just gonna be a messy, weak mush. The wind is all over the place – cross-on, cross-off, onshore – with very little clean, glassy conditions. There’s a moment on the morning of July 21st with glassy conditions and a tiny 2 ft ESE swell, but the energy is still weak, and it’s just not enough to get excited about.
The water temp is a standout, though. On July 8th, it's 77°F, which is a whopping 6°F warmer than usual for this time of year. That’s very unusual, so you can at least enjoy a warm paddle if you’re just floating around.
There are no standout days. No swells over 5 ft, no long-period groundswells, nothing. The best of a bad bunch might be the morning of July 21st with that glassy wind and a tiny bit of swell, but it’s still a no-go for a real surf. This is just one of those stretches where the ocean is takin’ a nap.
Rusty, out.
