Table - best surf conditions forecast for Brims Ness over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's break down the surf at Brims Ness.
It’s a slow burner. We’ve got a few good windows early, then a long dry spell before a big pulse late in the period.
Wednesday morning, July 8th, is your first go. A 4 ft west swell, 9-second period. Clean with a light cross-offshore breeze. Water temp is 54°, right on average. Moderate energy (278). It’s a solid start, but nothing to write home about.
Thursday morning, July 9th, is the pick of the first week. Only a 4 ft west swell, but the wind is pure offshore from the south at just 3 mph. Glassy, clean conditions. Energy is moderate (231). For a fairly consistent reef, this is a beauty. Smooth lines, no wind, just you and the rock.
After that, things go south. From Thursday afternoon all the way through to the middle of the next week, it’s onshore slop or flat. The 10th through the 18th of July is a long stretch of poor conditions, tiny swells, and hardly any energy. There’s a brief glassy moment on Tuesday morning, July 14th, with a 4 ft swell, but it’s cross-on and only moderate energy (267). Don’t get excited.
Now, for the real standout. Monday morning, July 20th. We’ve got a 8 ft north swell, 8-second period, and the wind is dead calm. Glassy. The combined energy hits 816 – that’s strong, serious power. This is a proper pulse for experts only. The swell direction isn’t perfect, being north instead of north-west, but with zero wind, it’s going to pump.
Tuesday morning, July 21st, offers a cleaner 5 ft north swell, glassy again, with less energy (248). A good follow-up for those who survived the 20th.
To sum it up: the best all-round session is that glassy, offshore morning on July 9th. It’s clean, manageable, and fun. For the big-wave crew, the morning of July 20th is the one to circle on the calendar, but it’s for experts only. Everything else is flat or junk.
Stay stoked.
Rusty.
