Table - best surf conditions forecast for Brims Ness over the next 16 days.

Alright, Rusty here. Let's break down the next 16 days for Brims Ness. There's a lot of swell energy on the chart, but the wind is going to be the deciding factor for most of it. There are a few long stretches where the surf just isn't worth the paddle, but a couple of windows of calm weather will make the wait worthwhile.

Right now and for the next little while, conditions are pretty ugly. We kick off on Saturday the 11th with a 4-foot west swell and a cross breeze, and it only gets messier from there. The wind stays onshore or cross-onshore for days on end, chopping up even the decent-sized swells that come through. The water temp is sitting at about 55°, which is pretty normal for this season.

The first real standout is on Monday the 20th. We get a glassy morning with the wind dropping to zero. The swell is a clean 4 feet from the north, with a moderate combined energy reading. It's not huge, but with the surface looking like a sheet of glass, it's going to be the best-looking surf of the whole forecast. This is a reef break for experts only, but those clean conditions will make it a proper session for those who can handle it.

Later on, there's another promising window. On Sunday the 26th, we get another glassy morning with light north winds. The swell is a similar 4 feet from the north. Once again, it's all about that smooth surface. The swell period is only 7 seconds though, so it's a short-period wind swell, but when it's glassy, you just go. The afternoon looks a bit ordinary.

In between those two, there's a big, messy spike of energy. Around Sunday the 19th, we see a 8-foot cross-onshore mess with very strong combined energy. That's a lot of power, but the wind is howling at 25 mph from the WNW. For a reef break, that's just going to be a washing machine. That setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing. For the beginners out there, anything over 5 feet is getting big, and that 8-foot day is strictly for the experts, even if the wind was good, which it isn't.

The rest of the window is mostly a write-off. There are days where the swell drops to 1 foot or less and the wind just won't let up. It's a long, quiet stretch until that Monday the 20th rolls around. Stay tuned, though, forecasts can shift.

Keep your eyes peeled for that glass, and you'll get a few good ones.

Rusty.
