Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s comin’ down the line for our local patch.

Right off the bat, the first few days are a bit of a write-off. We’ve got some swell on Friday the 10th, but it’s crossed-up and messy, not worth paddlin’ out for. The real story starts to build over the weekend, but it’s still not clean. Saturday the 11th sees some serious size pushin’ in, with a 10ft to 12ft SW swell, but that cross-onshore wind is gonna chop it all up. Not the one.

The first real standout window opens up on Monday the 13th. The swell is pumping from the SW, headin’ up to 13ft in the morning and holdin’ at 12ft through the arvo, with a solid 16-second period. The energy is heavy (7319 energy in the morning), and it’s got that long groundswell feel. It’s a bit cross-on, but only a light breeze, so it’s not as wrecked as the weekend. This is one for the experienced crew only – that 13ft is too much for beginners.

Now, the pick of the bunch for the first week is Tuesday the 14th. Cobblestones is gonna be firing. We’re looking at a 12ft SW swell droppin’ to 10ft, with a 15-second period, and the wind is swingin’ NE and blowin’ offshore all day. Light breeze, clean faces. That’s a beautiful combo. The water temp is about average for the time of year, so no surprises there. This is a solid day for any advanced surfer.

We get a bit of a messy spell mid-week, with strong winds on Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th. The swell sticks around, but the wind is just too rough. Friday the 17th is a total no-go with 28 mph winds and rain.

The weekend of the 18th and 19th is a two-part story. Saturday the 18th sees a massive jump in size – 18ft to 21ft SW swell. The energy numbers are enormous (over 16,000 on the arvo), and it’s got a 15-second period. This is expert-only territory, and honestly, it’s so big it might be more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer. The wind is cross-shore, which makes it manageable but still heavy.

Sunday the 19th is the sleeper hit. The swell drops back to a still-chunky 13ft to 12ft, but the wind goes glassy – dead calm in the morning from the NE, then glassy out of the WSW in the arvo. Slight air, clean as a whistle. The period is a shorter 12 seconds, which means it’ll be a bit more manageable and less likely to close out. This is a top-tier day for the experts.

The second week is a bit more of a mixed bag. Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st are marginal, with some tricky wind. Wednesday the 22nd morning looks promising again with a 10ft SW swell, 15-second period, and a light cross-off breeze from the SE. That’s a clean look. The energy is solid (4117), but it’s a week and a half out, so keep an eye on it.

The last true standout is Saturday the 25th. That’s a long way off, so chalk it up as a promising but uncertain one. The forecast is callin’ for a 12ft SW swell with a very long 17-second period, light offshore NE wind, and clean conditions. The energy is massive (7402). For a reef break like Cobblestones, that long period is gonna produce some beautifully shaped, powerful lines. If it holds, that’s a day to circle on the calendar.

Stay stoked, and keep your eyes on that Tuesday the 14th and Sunday the 19th for the best of the next two weeks.

Rusty.
