Table - best surf conditions forecast for Huzzawouie (Huzzas) over the next 16 days.

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s get into it. We’ve got a solid run of swell on the way for Huzzawouie, a reef break that’s best for the experienced crew. The water is sitting at 66°F – that’s a touch warmer than average for this time of year, a nice little anomaly.

The first real action kicks off Friday morning, the 10th of July. We’re looking at head-high plus swell at 8ft out of the SW, with a solid 13-second period. The wind is a cross-off, so it’ll be a bit clean but there’s a “marginal” feel to it. It’s not the best of the window, but it’s a start. The energy is already pumping at 2375 (combined energy).

Saturday the 11th is where it starts to get interesting. The swell builds to 8ft in the morning, and by the afternoon it’s a solid 10ft, both from the SW. The wind is a gentle breeze, cross-off, keeping things clean. This is expert territory now – over 8ft means it’s only for the skilled. The energy jumps to 3357.

Now, Sunday the 12th is the standout. The afternoon session is the pick of the whole run. We’ve got a massive 12ft SW swell with a very long-period of 17 seconds. That’s groundswell with serious grunt and long gaps between sets. The energy is off the charts at 8134. With a gentle cross-off breeze, the reef will be firing clean, powerful lines. This is a true standout for the experts.

Monday the 13th stays big, still 12ft from the SW, but the wind turns a bit cross. The energy is still massive (6551 prime), but it’s not as perfect as Sunday. Tuesday the 14th has a bit of a treat – Tuesday afternoon goes glassy, zero wind, and the swell is a quality 10ft from the SW. That’s a magic window.

We get a bit of a blowout on Wednesday the 15th with strong winds and messy conditions, so that’s a write-off. Thursday the 16th cleans up again with a cross-off and 10ft WSW swell, but it’s not the same quality as the weekend.

Looking further out, the second week has some promising pulses. The 18th of July is a big one – 13ft WSW swell, but it’s hammered by a near gale in the morning. The afternoon of the 18th cleans up nicely with a cross-off, and you’re looking at 13ft with a 17-second period again. That’s a serious, serious day for the experts.

Sunday the 19th is another big one, with 15ft WSW swell and a clean cross-off. The energy is 8402. That’s massive, and only for the very experienced.

The 20th and 21st settle back to the 8ft to 12ft range with excellent wind. The 22nd of July is a nice one too – 12ft SW with a 14-second period and clean conditions. The 23rd looks good as well.

The last few days of the window get blown out again on the 25th with strong winds and huge, messy swell. Not worth paddling for.

So, the absolute standout is Sunday the 12th of July afternoon. Second best is the 19th of July morning. Both are big, clean, and powerful. Don’t sleep on that Tuesday afternoon the 14th – glassy and 10ft is a rare combo.

Rusty.
