Table - best surf conditions forecast for Huzzawouie (Huzzas) over the next 16 days.

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s get into it.

First up, we’ve got a solid run of good, clean swell coming through on the reef at Huzzawouie (Huzzas). The water is sitting at 66°F which is a touch warmer than usual for this time of year, so you’ll be comfortable in a spring suit.

The real standout is Sunday afternoon, July 12th. We’re looking at a solid 12 ft groundswell from the SW, with a very long 17-second period. That’s proper energy – the combined energy is a massive 8192, so you’ll feel the power. The wind is a light cross-off from the SSW at 9 mph, meaning the faces will be clean and lined up. This is a reef break, so that long-period groundswell will really shine, offering up some nice, deep-water walls. It’s a beginner-friendly spot, but this size is getting into the intermediate zone. The crowd can be a factor here, so don’t expect it to be empty.

Monday morning, July 13th, still has size with 12 ft from the SW and a 16-second period, but the wind is cross-shore. It’s still surfable, but the Sunday afternoon window is the one to circle. The combined energy is still a hefty 6285, so it’s got plenty of punch.

We then have a long stretch of poor quality from Wednesday, July 15th, right through to the end of the third week. The winds get nasty, with strong onshore and cross-onshore gusts up to 28 mph, making it messy and lumpy. The swell is still there, but the conditions are just not worth paddling out for. The 18th of July sees a massive 20 ft swell, but it’s too big for this break and the wind is howling. That’s a kite-surfing setup, not a paddle one.

Later in the run, we get another clean shot. On Friday, July 24th, the morning session looks promising. The swell drops to a still-punchy 13 ft from the SW with a 15-second period, and the wind swings to a light cross-off from the south at 9 mph. The combined energy is 6299, so it’s a powerful, clean day. The afternoon holds up too, with 12 ft and cross-off breeze. That Friday is your second-best window, but it’s a week and a half out, so keep an eye on it.

After that, the swell fades and the quality drops off again into the end of the month. So, if you’re looking for the best of the best, Sunday the 12th and Friday the 24th are your days. Get on it.

Rusty.
