Table - best surf conditions forecast for Huzzawouie (Huzzas) over the next 16 days.

G’day, Rusty here.

We’ve got a decent run of surf on the cards at Huzzawouie (Huzzas), a reef break that’s fairly consistent and beginner-friendly, though it’ll get plenty big for the pros only later on. Water temp’s sitting at 66°, which is about average for this time of year, so nothing crazy there.

The first few days are a bit of a mixed bag. Thursday afternoon, July 9, is a write-off – 8ft of WSW swell but with a cross-onshore wind and choppy conditions. Not worth paddling out. Friday morning, July 10, cleans up nicely with a cross-offshore breeze and 8ft SW swell, but the energy is moderate (2558). Friday afternoon drops to 6ft and still clean, but it’s small.

Saturday morning, July 11, is where it starts to get interesting. 8ft SW swell with a 13-second period, clean cross-off wind, and a moderate energy reading (2372). It’s a solid option for experienced surfers, though the afternoon pushes 10ft and gets a bit raw. Sunday, July 12, holds 10ft SW swell with a 14-second period, but the wind goes cross and it gets a bit lumpy.

Now, the standout. Monday morning, July 13 – this is the one. 12ft SW swell with a 16-second period, groundswell energy pumping (6882), and a light cross-off breeze keeping it glassy clean. This is exceptional for expert surfers only – too big for beginners. The reef will handle that long period beautifully, and the wave quality will be top shelf. If you’re experienced, don’t miss it.

Tuesday July 14 sees the swell drop to 10ft with a 15-second period, still big and clean early, but the wind goes cross and it gets a bit of chop. Wednesday July 15 through Friday July 17 is a right-off – strong onshore winds, lumpy, messy. Not worth it.

Saturday July 18 brings a pulse: 13ft SW swell with a 13-second period, moderate energy (5197) and clean offshore winds in the afternoon. Again, experts only. Sunday July 19 is still solid at 8ft with clean cross-off winds, but the period drops to 11 seconds.

Then Monday July 20 – glassy, 5ft SW swell, period 12 seconds, energy low (1040). It’s clean and small, good for a relaxed session. Tuesday July 21 sees a 6ft SW swell with a very long 18-second period, glassy in the morning, then offshore in the afternoon. That long period will make the reef break nicely, though it might be a bit straight for a beach break. Wednesday July 22 holds 10ft with a 16-second period, clean and cross-off – another excellent day for experts.

The last few days, July 23 and 24, wind down. 8ft dropping to 7ft, clean conditions, moderate energy. Nothing special but still a fun finish.

All in all, Monday July 13 is the absolute standout for expert surfers. Tuesday July 21 is a close second for those who want a bit more manageable size with that super long period. The rest of the run is solid but not epic.

Rusty.
