Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s talk about what’s on the table. The first real action kicks off Sunday, July 6th, with a solid pulse of SW swell rolling in. The water’s sitting at 67° which is pretty much normal for this time of year, nothing weird going on there. But hold on, that Sunday is a write-off – messy wind, lumpy conditions, you wouldn’t want to be out there unless you’re a glutton for punishment. Monday July 7th is where the story starts to get good.
Monday morning, July 7th, we’ve got clean conditions at Noises (reef). The wind is cross-offshore from the SE at 16 mph, which is a big tick. Swell is 12 ft from the WSW, period a long 15 seconds – proper groundswell with some serious grunt. The energy is strong (5663). This is expert territory though, that’s well over 8 ft, so only for the experienced crew. The afternoon holds similar size and stays clean.
Tuesday July 8th morning is the first real standout. Clear skies, light 6 mph SSE cross-offshore wind, and an 12 ft SW swell with a period of 16 seconds. The energy is pumping (6768). The combination of that long period, clean wind, and the reef setup at Noises means the waves will have shape, power, and good gaps between sets. This is the pick of the first part of the week – proper, well-ordered groundswell with clean faces. Crowds are possible here, so you might want to get in early.
Wednesday July 9th morning is another cracker. Glassy, light a 3 mph NW wind, 7 ft of SW swell but with a very long 18-second period. Energy is still strong (4717). That kind of period will make for beautifully shaped waves, but at a beach break it can make them a bit straight. On a reef like Noises, it’s a dream. This is the absolute standout of the whole outlook – glassy conditions, long-period groundswell, and manageable size. A real treat.
Thursday July 10th morning keeps it clean with cross-offshore wind and 10 ft SW swell at 16 seconds (4765 energy). Good for experienced surfers. Afternoon holds 12 ft and the same period, clean again. Another strong day.
Friday July 11th morning brings a shift – cross-onshore wind from the NNW at 16 mph, lumpy, 8 ft SW swell. That’s a write-off. Saturday July 12th ain’t great either, with more wind and rain.
Now we get a gnarly stretch: Sunday July 13th morning is a monster – 13 ft SW swell at 14 seconds, cross-offshore wind, energy is through the roof (9279). That’s big, powerful, and only for the most skilled. The afternoon stays big and clean, 12 ft with a 17-second period (7725). Still a beast.
Monday July 14th morning sees the size drop to 7 ft, with a 15-second period and cross-offshore wind. Energy still decent (4275). Good for experienced surfers. The afternoon is the real gem again – glassy conditions, 7 ft SW swell with an incredible 18-second period (4717 energy). This is another standout. Glassy, long-period, perfect shape on the reef.
Tuesday July 15th morning and afternoon both offer clean, cross-offshore wind, with 10 ft and 12 ft SW swell at 16 seconds. Energy in the 4700-5100 range. Solid, powerful, clean – just remember crowds are possible.
Thursday July 17th morning brings 10 ft SW at 12 seconds, cross-offshore, and clean (3147 energy). A bit shorter period, but still surfable.
Friday July 18th morning and afternoon both look good – 12 ft SW swell, 16-second period, clean cross-offshore wind. Energy is strong (6573 and 5186). A nice run of clean surf.
Saturday July 19th morning is the final call – 10 ft SW, 14 seconds, cross-offshore, clean. Energy 3570. Good for experienced surfers. The afternoon gets a bit cross-onshore, so morning’s the pick.
After that, Sunday July 20th is a mess with onshore wind and rain, and Monday July 21st is only marginal with cross-shore wind and chop.
So here’s the bottom line: the standout sessions are Tuesday July 8th morning for the big, clean, long-period groundswell with offshore wind, and Monday July 14th afternoon for the glassy, 18-second perfection. If you’re an expert, Sunday July 13th morning is all-time size and power. For the rest, pick your clean days and get on it. Crowds are a factor at Noises, but the quality makes it worth the company.
Rusty.
