The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's cut through the data and get to the story. Noises is going to have plenty of swell over the next two weeks, but the wind is the real boss here.
Starting off right now, Sunday the 23rd is a bit of a mess. A solid 8ft SW swell at 13 seconds, but it's getting slopped up by a 12 mph SSW cross-on wind. Water's sitting around 66°, which is a tick warmer than usual. The combined energy is strong, around 2766. It's choppy. Sunday afternoon cleans up to cross-shore, but there's still a chop.
Monday the 24th offers a 10ft SW swell in the morning on a 13-second period (3045 energy), but with a 9 mph NW cross-on breeze. The afternoon drops to 8ft but the wind picks up again, making it choppy.
Tuesday the 25th is a washout. Rain and a fresh 22 mph NNW cross-on wind with an 8ft WSW swell. By afternoon, it jumps to a heavy 13ft WSW swell at 13 seconds (8702 energy), but it's lumpy and blown out.
Now, Wednesday the 26th – things get serious for the brave. Morning has a massive 18ft WSW groundswell with a very long 18-second period. The energy is huge at 17108. The wind is a gentle 9 mph SSE cross-off, keeping it clean. But the word is it's predicted to be too big for this break. This is a reef, so that size and direction are heavy. Experts only. The afternoon is similar: 16ft at 17 seconds (15029 energy) with clean cross-off wind.
Thursday the 27th drops to a still-solid 13ft SW swell on a 15-second period (6228 energy) with a fresh 19 mph SSE cross-off wind. Clean, but tide could be tricky. Afternoon is 12ft.
Friday the 28th is smaller, 8ft SW at 12 seconds, moderate cross-off wind. Clean but average.
Here's your golden window. Saturday the 29th morning is looking excellent. A 10ft SW groundswell rolling in at a long 16 seconds (4908 energy), with a light 6 mph ENE offshore breeze. That's glassy, clean surf for experienced surfers. It's a reef, so the long period works in its favor, and the swell direction (SW) is right in line with what this spot wants (WSW). Crowds are listed as "sometimes" for Noises, so with a day this good, paddling out early is a smart move.
Sunday the 30th morning stays clean with a 10ft SW swell at 16 seconds (4009 energy) and a light 9 mph NNE cross-off breeze. Another solid option for the experienced crew.
Monday the 31st through Tuesday the 1st of September get messy. Wind goes onshore or cross-shore, swell stays between 8ft and 10ft, but the quality fades.
Then from the 2nd of September, the size comes back with a vengeance. Wednesday the 2nd is a total loss with a strong 28 mph WNW onshore wind. Thursday and Friday the 3rd and 4th are marginal with moderate winds.
Friday the 4th afternoon is another potential standout. A 16ft WSW swell at 16 seconds (11386 energy) with a light onshore breeze. The energy is massive, but that onshore wind will put a texture on it.
Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th are big again – 13ft to 16ft – but the cross-on wind returns, making it choppy.
The final big moment is Monday the 7th of September. That morning is absolutely massive: over 21ft of WSW swell with an incredible 20-second period. The combined energy is a monstrous 33044. The wind is a light 6 mph easterly offshore, making it clean. This is a beast for experts only. The afternoon stays at 20ft with a 19-second period.
So, to boil it down: Saturday the 29th morning is the pick of the week – clean offshore, solid 10ft SW groundswell. Monday the 7th morning is the big one if you're an expert, but it's a week and a half out, so watch it closely.
Stay sharp.
