Table - best surf conditions forecast for Noises over the next 16 days.
Alright, surfers, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming up for Noises over the next couple of weeks.
We’ve got a solid run of swell on the way, but it’s a real mixed bag of conditions. The water is sitting at 67° which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so that’s a nice bonus.
The first real chance to get wet kicks off on Sunday the 12th. It’s not perfect, with a 8ft SW swell and a cross-onshore breeze, so it’ll be a bit choppy and messy. The wave energy is strong (7106), but the quality isn’t there for a standout session.
Monday the 13th brings a bigger pulse of swell, hitting 13ft from the SW with a very long period of 16 seconds. That’s a serious groundswell. The wind is still a light cross-onshore, so expect some texture on the face. At this size, this is strictly for the experienced crew. The energy is massive (7227).
Now, Tuesday the 14th is where it gets interesting. The morning looks clean with a light cross-offshore NE wind. The swell is still a solid 10ft from the SW with a long period of 15 seconds. This is a classic setup for a reef break like Noises, and the wave energy is still very strong (4309). This is the pick of the first week for experienced surfers looking for clean, powerful lines.
The wind goes ugly on Wednesday the 15th with a strong cross-shore hitting 25 mph, making a mess of the 7ft to 10ft swell. Thursday is similar, with strong onshore winds through the morning. Conditions stay poor right through to the end of the following week, with a lot of fresh onshore winds and lumpy, choppy surf.
We hit a big red flag on Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th. The swell is predicted to be just too big, hitting 20ft and 13ft respectively, with strong onshore winds. That’s a no-go for paddling and looks more like a kite surfing setup than a surfing one.
After a lull, the next potential window appears on the morning of Monday the 27th. The wind swings light offshore from the NE, the swell is a more manageable 6ft from the SW with a long period of 14 seconds, and it’s clean. The energy is moderate (1404), and it’s called excellent for experienced surfers. That’s a promising note for the very end of the outlook, but being so far out, it’s one to watch.
So, to sum it up: the standout is Tuesday the 14th for clean, powerful waves for the experts. The rest of the run is mostly a battle with the wind or pure size, with a glimmer of hope on the 27th.
Stay safe out there.
Rusty.
