Table - best surf conditions forecast for Noises over the next 16 days.
Right, y’all. Let’s talk about Noises.
This stretch is all about the swell – and it’s gonna be a wild ride. We’ve got a serious run of SW groundswell heading our way, and for a reef break that loves a W/SW angle, this is a proper address. The water is a touch warmer than average for this time of year at 67°, which is a nice little bonus.
The first call is Sunday the 12th. It’s building, but the wind is a messy cross-on, so it’s a bit of a wait. Monday the 13th is where it starts to get interesting – we’ve got a solid 13ft SW swell at 16 seconds, but again, it’s cross-on. The combined energy is massive (7227), but the wind is keeping it lumpy. The real standout window opens Tuesday the 14th. The wind swings to a light NE cross-off, giving us clean 10ft SW groundswell (14-15 seconds). This is the pick of the first week – excellent conditions for experienced surfers. The energy is still very strong (4309), and that light wind will turn this reef into a proper canvas.
Then things get messy. Wednesday the 15th through the weekend (20th) is a write-off with howling onshore winds and rain. The swell stays big, but it’s a battle. We’re talking 12ft to 21ft surf with strong cross-shore and onshore gales. This is kite-surfing territory, not paddle surfing. There’s a brief window Monday the 20th morning with glassy conditions and a 7ft SW swell (1518 energy), but it’s a small gap in a stormy period.
The real standout of the whole 16-day outlook, though, is Monday the 27th of July. That’s the one to circle on the calendar. After a week of wind and chaos, the models are showing light SE winds, clean conditions, and a massive 13ft to 15ft SW groundswell with a 16-17 second period. The energy is extraordinary (13438 in the afternoon). This is expert territory only – over 8ft, it’s for the big dogs. But the quality is rated as exceptional. Just be aware that with that long period, the sets will be widely spaced, and the reef will handle it better than a beach break. Crowds are sometimes an issue here, and on a day like that, expect a few of the locals to be out.
So, to sum it up: Tuesday the 14th is your best bet for a clean, manageable session in the first week. The absolute standout, though, is Monday the 27th – a promise of a proper, heavy, clean groundswell for the experts. The middle of the outlook is a write-off. Don’t waste your energy on it.
