Table - best surf conditions forecast for Noises over the next 16 days.
Alright, folks, Rusty here. Let’s get into it. We’ve got a solid, pulsating run of south-west groundswell headed our way for the next couple of weeks. It’s not going to be perfect every day, but there’s plenty of size and power on the table. The water temp is sitting right around 66° at the start, which is pretty much average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
The first real action kicks off Thursday morning, July 9th, with a solid 10ft swell from the WSW, carrying a long 14-second period. That’s a lot of energy (3572) and it’s powerful, but the wind is a light cross-on from the NW, so it’ll be a bit lumpy. Still, there’s a lot of wave there for the taking. The afternoon sees the same swell dropping slightly to 8ft, but the wind swings around to the WSW and gets a bit stronger, making it choppier. Friday and Saturday are frustrating. The swell is still solid, between 5ft and 10ft, with that long period, but the wind is a moderate cross-shore from the S and SSW, chopping things up. It’s going to be a bit of a messy, bumpy ride. The real standout window starts to open up on Sunday morning, July 12th. We’ve got a solid 10ft swell from the SW at 14 seconds, and the wind is barely a whisper from the SW, just a light cross-on. The energy is building too, hitting 5243. It’s not glassy, but it’s close to it, and the waves will have some real push.
But the absolute best of the first week? That has to be Monday, July 13th. The swell jumps to a very solid 13ft from the SW, with a 16-second period. That’s a serious, deep ocean groundswell, packing a massive 7503 units of energy. That’s big, powerful, and steep. For a reef break, this is prime territory. The morning wind is a light cross-on from the SSW, keeping it just a little textured, but for a setup like Noises, that’s still excellent. The afternoon cleans up even more with a light cross-shore. This is advanced territory, not for the faint of heart. If you’re an expert, you’re going to want to be in the water.
Tuesday, July 14th is the next big highlight. The swell eases to a still-chunky 12ft from the SW, but the wind finally plays ball. In the morning, we get a light cross-offshore breeze from the NE, which is going to groom those faces into perfection. The afternoon is even better, with a glassy, 10ft swell from the SW and the lightest of airs from the E. That’s as clean as it gets. The energy is still high at 3777. This is a day for the connoisseur.
The second week sees the pattern continue, but with a few more bumps. Thursday, July 16th, we get another push of 12ft swell from the WSW, but the wind is a messy cross-on from the NW and NNW, so it’s going to be a bit of a battle. Friday, July 17th, is a write-off with strong, choppy winds. Saturday, July 18th, is blown out by a strong breeze, with the swell dropping to 8ft.
After a few days of messy wind, we see a return to form. Sunday, July 19th, the wind finally swings offshore from the SSE, cleaning up a solid 10ft swell from the SW. It’s a moderate breeze, so it’s not perfect, but it’s clean. The afternoon is even better with a gentler breeze. Then Monday, July 20th is a total stunner. Light, glassy conditions from the NNE with a 8ft SW swell. This is a beautiful, clean, mellow day for experienced surfers. The energy is moderate (1982), so the waves will have shape and power without being overwhelming.
The end of the outlook, around July 22nd and 23rd, sees a smaller, cleaner swell from the SW, with the wind turning offshore from the SE. It’s a bit smaller, around 6ft to 8ft, but the wind is clean, making for some lovely, fun, and manageable waves, especially on the 24th.
So, to sum it up: the standout, can’t-miss windows are Monday, July 13th for the huge, powerful groundswell, and Tuesday, July 14th for the perfect, glassy conditions with plenty of size. The second week’s best is Monday, July 20th, which offers a clean, glassy day with a good solid swell. Noises is a reef, so it handles these long-period swells beautifully, and with the consistent size, it’s going to be a busy spot. Expect crowds, especially on the good days.
Rusty.
