Table - best surf conditions forecast for Noises over the next 16 days.

Alright folks, let’s take a look at the surf at Noises over the next couple of weeks. It’s a bumpy ride with plenty of size, but you’ll need to pick your moments carefully because the wind is not playing nice most of the time. That first pulse is a big ol’ groundswell, but it’s gonna be a fight.

First off, Monday the 13th of July. There’s a solid 13ft swell rolling in from the SW with a long 16-second period – proper deep ocean energy peaking at 7227 (combined energy of all swells directed here). That’s a lot of water moving around. The wind is out of the SW at 6 mph and it’s cross-onshore, so it will be bumpy and choppy. This is only for the experienced guys – that size is way over 8ft, so beginners need to sit this one out. Tide and texture look marginal at best.

Tuesday the 14th is a beauty. The swell has eased a bit to 10ft, still from the SW, with a 15-second period. The big winner here is the wind – a clean NE breeze at 6 mph that’s cross-offshore. That will give you clean, glassy faces on the reef. Excellent conditions for advanced surfers. Water temp is about average for the time of year, nothing unusual. Crowds can show up sometimes, and on a Tuesday with that kind of glass and size, expect a few locals out. This is the top pick in the near term.

Wednesday the 15th goes bad. Still a solid 10ft SW swell with a long period, but a stiff 25 mph north wind kicks up a messy cross-shore chop. Scores are poor. Find something else to do.

Thursday the 16th through to Sunday the 19th is a washout. The wind stays onshore, gusty, and the swell is big but grubby. Saturday the 18th is almost insane – 18ft of WSW swell with a 15-second period – that is an absolutely massive amount of energy (14569 combined energy), but with a strong onshore wind hammering it, it’s survival only. Kite surfers would love it; for the rest, it’s too much and too messy.

Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st are more of the same – strong onshore winds, fresh to moderate breeze, and big lumpy surf. Not worth it.

Wednesday the 22nd sees the swell drop back to about 8ft, but the wind is still nasty from the WNW and WSW. Another day to skip.

From Thursday the 23rd through to Saturday the 25th, we’ve got more solid 11ft to 13ft SW groundswell, but those onshore and cross-onshore winds just won’t let up. Fresh to strong breeze, rain – it’s just messy and lumpy. No fun.

Now, look ahead. Sunday the 26th gives us a glimmer. The swell drops to a more manageable 5ft from the SW with a 12-second period. The wind is a gentle cross-shore breeze from the south at 9 mph. Combined energy is weak to moderate at 969. Still a little chop, but the best it’s looked in a week.

But the real standout second-week window is Monday the 27th of July. The swell is 4ft to 6ft from the WSW with a long 15-second period – quality groundswell. The wind turns light and cross-offshore from the ESE, with speeds between 3 and 6 mph. That means clean, glassy conditions on that exposed reef. Combined energy sits at 1292 to 2450 – moderate, but with that period, the waves will have plenty of punch and shape. It’s a bit smaller, so a great session for experienced surfers without the beating of the bigger days.

Tuesday the 28th holds similar shape with about 7ft of swell and a cross-offshore NNE breeze, though the wind picks up a little – still a good session, just not as pristine as Monday morning.

Those Monday and Tuesday sessions at the end of the month – particularly the 27th – are the hidden gems. The size is right, the wind is right, and that groundswell period gives beautiful, clean lines. Not a lock this far out, but it looks real promising.

So to sum it up – it’s a wild few weeks, plenty of swell but a lot of wind-driven chop. Tuesday the 14th is the early highlight for power and a clean window, and Monday the 27th is the one to mark on the calendar for a clean, easy session. Keep an eye on both.

Rusty.
