Table - best surf conditions forecast for Noises over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. We’ve got a solid 16-day window ahead at Noises, and it’s a ripper for those who know what they’re doing. This is an exposed reef break, advanced only, and it’s consistent. The water’s sitting at 67°, which is about 2° warmer than usual for this time of year – nothing crazy, but a nice little bonus.
The action kicks off Saturday, July 11, with a 10ft SW swell, 13-second period, and a cross breeze. The combined energy is already cranking at 2820 (moderate-strong), but it’s a bit messy. By Saturday afternoon, the swell bumps to 12ft SW, and the energy jumps to 3732. Still, the wind is cross, so it’s not clean yet. Sunday, July 12, sees the swell dropping to 10ft SW in the morning, but the energy is up to 5563, and the period stretches to 14 seconds. It’s a bit choppy with cross-onshore wind. Sunday afternoon gets better: 8ft SW with a long 18-second period, energy at 6920, but still a bit cross-onshore.
Now, Monday, July 13, is where it starts to cook. Morning has 12ft SW, 16-second period, energy at 6965, and only a light cross-onshore breeze. The waves have shape, but the wind is just a touch on it. By Tuesday, July 14, it’s a standout. The morning is clear, with a light cross-offshore NE breeze, 10ft SW, 15-second period, and energy at 4427. It’s clean. Then Tuesday afternoon – glassy. Calm wind, 10ft SW, 14-second period, energy at 3968. This is the best on offer: perfect conditions for experienced surfers, with the reef handling that long-period groundswell beautifully. The only downside is that crowds are sometimes a thing here, so get in early.
Wednesday, July 15, turns ugly. Strong NNW wind at 19 mph, lumpy and cross, with the swell still 8ft to 10ft. It’s a write-off through to Friday, July 17, with strong to near-gale winds and messy conditions. Not worth paddling out.
Then Saturday, July 18, is a monster. 20ft WSW swell, 17-second period, energy at 21793 – that’s very strong. But the wind is onshore at 34 mph, and it’s way too big for this break. Only for the absolute nutters, if anyone. Sunday, July 19, is another standout: morning has 13ft SW, 14-second period, energy at 6981, and a light cross-offshore SSE breeze. The waves are clean, but still big – expert only. It’s exceptional.
After that, the swell drops through the week, with a glassy morning on Tuesday, July 21: 12ft SSW, 11-second period, energy at 3519. That’s clean and fun. But by Thursday, July 23, it’s average again. The last real chance is Sunday, July 26, with a 8ft SW swell, 16-second period, and a clean cross-offshore breeze from the SSE. Energy at 3643 – a solid session to wrap it up.
All in all, the standouts are Tuesday, July 14, and Sunday, July 19. Tuesday is glassy perfection, Sunday is big and clean. Don’t sleep on that Tuesday glass-off.
Rusty.
