Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s look at the surf coming our way for Noises. This is an advanced reef break, exposed to the swell, and it’s got a run of clean, solid swell coming through. The water’s sitting at 67.1°F with a water temp anomaly of 1.6°F, so pretty average for this time of year – nothing weird going on.
We kick off on the morning of Friday, July 3rd. The swell is a solid 9.8ft from the SW with a long period of 14 seconds, and the wind is light ENE cross-offshore. This is pumping, but that size and long-period groundswell on a reef means it’s strictly for experienced surfers. The combined swell energy is strong at 3708 (moderate wave energy). It’s clean and has excellent conditions for those who can handle it.
That afternoon, the wind switches to a light NNW cross-shore and the swell drops a touch to 8.2ft. It’s still good, but the conditions are a little more crossy.
Saturday, July 4th, the mornings swell bumps back up to 9.8ft, but the NNE wind is a moderate breeze at 16 mph – still cross-off, so it’s clean, but the energy is very strong at 5166 (strong wave energy). By the afternoon, it’s a fresh breeze at 19 mph, still cross-off and clean, but that wind is starting to get up there. The 17-second period on the morning is very long-period groundswell – great for this reef setup as it will wrap in nicely, but expect long lulls between sets.
Sunday, July 5th, is a write-off. The wind is howling from the NW at 25 mph, cross-on, and rain moving in. The swell drops to 4.9ft and the wave comment says poor – a day to stay on land.
Now, from Monday, July 6th, things get serious again. The morning brings a 13.1ft SW swell with a 15-second period, light SE cross-off wind, and combined swell energy of 7140 (very strong wave energy). This is big, powerful, and only for the experts. The afternoon bumps it to 14.8ft with 8377 energy – a massive window. This is the standout of the whole run: solid, clean groundswell, cross-off breeze, perfect for the reef. The scores back this up.
Tuesday, July 7th, continues the run: 13.1ft in the morning with 7961 energy and light ESE cross-off wind. The afternoon drops to 11.5ft with 5606 energy and light SE wind – still exceptional for experts.
Conditions hold on Wednesday, July 8th, with 9.8ft SW swell and light SSE cross-off wind. The morning is excellent for experienced surfers. The afternoon picks up a moderate breeze but stays clean.
Thursday, July 9th, we see a drop to 8.2ft, but the wind is still gentle and cross-off. It’s excellent for experienced surfers in the morning.
Friday, July 10th, the wind turns offshore from the E at 9 mph for the morning, with a 7.2ft SW swell. Gentle offshore and clean – a great window for a wider range of competent surfers.
Saturday, July 11th, brings a moderate SSE breeze, but the standout moment is the afternoon: a 5.9ft SW swell with a 20-second period. That is very long-period groundswell. Combined energy is 3561 (moderate wave energy) but that period will push through with serious power and shape. It’ll be best on this reef – long lulls, but the sets will be epic for those who read it right.
Sunday, July 12th, a fresh swell pulse hits: 11.5ft SW with 4943 energy and ESE cross-off wind. Good, clean, but back to big sizes for experts.
Monday, July 13th, is the next big standout. The wind is offshore from the E all day – 16 mph in the morning, dropping to 12 mph in the afternoon. Swell holds at 9.8-11.5ft from the SW with a 16-second period. Combined energy is 5149-5478 (strong wave energy). The afternoon is noted as exceptional for experts. Moderate offshore wind and clean – this is going to be hollow and fast.
Tuesday, July 14th, stays clean and solid at 11.5ft with moderate ENE cross-off wind.
After that, from Wednesday, July 15th, the swell starts to fade and the wind picks up. The morning of the 15th has 7.5ft but a fresh 19 mph NNE cross-off wind, which is getting a bit lumpy. The afternoon drops to 5.2ft with the same wind, and the energy drops to 1053 (weak wave energy) – marginal stuff.
Thursday, July 16th, is messy with strong cross-shore wind and poor conditions. July 17th looks like a write-off, with strong onshore wind and a 13.1ft chopped-up swell.
Then on Saturday, July 18th, a massive swell arrives: 21.3
