Table - best surf conditions forecast for Noises over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s get into it, surfers. This is Rusty, and I’ve got a look at what’s on the cards for the next couple of weeks at Noises.
It’s a proper heavy-water reef break for advanced surfers only, and the forecast is a real rollercoaster. We’ve got a lot of size and energy coming, but the wind is going to be the story, making or breaking it.
Let’s kick off Sunday the 12th. It’s already a bit of a washout – we’ve got a solid 10 ft SW groundswell, but the cross-onshore wind is making it choppy. The combined swell energy is strong at 5563. It’s not happening today.
Monday the 13th looks a touch better, but still not clean. First light sees a big 13 ft SW swell (energy 7227), and while the cross-on wind is lighter, it’s still not glassy. The size is already way over 8 ft, so this is expert territory only.
Now, here’s where we get a real standout. Tuesday the 14th is the pick of the first week. The wind swings light offshore from the NE, and we get clean conditions on a 10 ft SW swell. The period is 15 seconds, a proper long-period groundswell that will wrap in nicely here. This set-up is pure class for those who can handle it.
Wednesday the 15th gets messy again with a strong, fresh cross-offshore wind. The swell stays solid at 8 ft to 10 ft, but the strength of the wind kills the quality. Thursday through to Saturday the 18th is a write-off. We’re looking at a mix of rain, strong onshore and cross-onshore winds, and wild, lumpy conditions. It’s a proper no-go zone. The energy levels just get silly – Saturday morning the 18th is a massive 16 ft SW swell with energy at 15981, but it’s blown out by a strong cross-onshore wind. Too big and too messy.
We get a second chance, and a brilliant one, on Sunday the 19th. The morning is absolutely glassy – no wind, clean lines from a 13 ft SW swell. This is exceptional, pristine surf for those who have the skills. The afternoon stays glassy too with a 12 ft swell. This day is a true gift for the experts.
Monday the 20th is still very good. A moderate offshore wind from the ENE keeps things clean on a 10 ft SW swell. That’s a solid, clean day. Tuesday the 21st sees the wind pick up strong offshore, which makes it clean but a real challenge to paddle into. The swell is backing off a bit to 8 ft.
Then we head into another build. Wednesday the 22nd is a monster. We’re looking at an 18 ft SW groundswell with energy readings over 16696. The wind is light cross-offshore, making it clean, but the size is absolutely huge. This is for the elite only.
From Thursday the 23rd through Saturday the 26th, it’s a return to chaos. Strong onshore and cross-onshore winds, rain, and massive messy surf. It’s a write-off period. The run finally shows a glimmer of hope on Sunday the 26th, with a lighter cross-shore wind and a 16 ft swell, but it’s still lumpy.
The final note is for Monday the 27th. A light cross-offshore breeze and an 12 ft SW swell bring clean conditions to close out the outlook. A solid end to a wild run.
So, to boil it down: if you’re an expert, Tuesday the 14th and Sunday the 19th are your days. Don’t even think about paddling out on anything smaller than a gun.
Rusty.
