Table - best surf conditions forecast for Surfers Point over the next 16 days.
Alright, grab your board, let’s talk about what’s coming up. The only spot on the table for the next couple of weeks is Surfers Point (reef break), and it’s got some serious pulse, but you’re gonna need to pick your moments. This isn't a beginner's wave right now.
The ocean’s got a lot of energy. We start off Friday the 10th with a solid SW swell, 6ft at 12 seconds, but that wind is a cross-shore and the water’s been feeling a touch warmer than usual for this time of year (67°F). The combined energy is already chunky at 1641, but conditions are messy with a cross-chop.
Saturday the 11th sees the swell ramping up. Morning has 10ft SW swell at 13 seconds, and by the afternoon it’s 12ft. That’s getting into expert territory. The wind stays light and cross-shore, but the energy jumps into the thousands – 2820 in the morning and 3732 in the arvo. The waves will have power, but the cross-shore wind and chop means it’s not that clean.
Sunday the 12th, the swell continues to build, with a 10ft SW swell in the morning at 14 seconds turning to a 8ft, 18-second swell in the afternoon. That 18-second period is a proper groundswell, very long period, meaning those waves will be lining up with heaps of energy between sets. The combined energy hits 6700 by the arvo. But unfortunately the wind is cross-onshore and choppy. It’s not totally blown out, but it’s not glass either.
The real standout of the whole run – and I mean the one you wait for – is Tuesday the 14th. Monday the 13th is still big and cross-onshore with 13ft and 12ft, energy peaking at 7227. It’s there, but messy. Then Tuesday morning the wind swings northeast, light and cross-offshore, and the 12ft SW swell at 15 seconds cleans right up. The report says "clean." In the afternoon it goes glassy with a 10ft SW swell at 14 seconds. That’s your window. The energy is strong (4828 in the morning, 3777 in the arvo), but those winds will make it smooth. This is the best on offer for experienced surfers.
After that, Wednesday the 15th through Friday the 17th gets ugly. Strong winds (18-25 mph) from the north and northwest mess everything up. The swell stays solid – 8ft to 12ft – but it’s lumpy, choppy, and just poor. The scores reflect that.
Then the weekend of the 18th and 19th has an absolute monster. Saturday the 18th shows 16ft SW swell with energy reading over 15,000. That’s a huge amount of power, but the warning is clear: that’s too big for this break. Only for experts with nerves of steel, and even then, the cross-onshore wind makes it messy. Sunday the 19th is still 16ft in the morning with batshit energy (18,458), but then drops to 12ft in the arvo. Still, not clean.
The following week from Monday the 21st onward, it’s a mixed bag. Tuesday the 22nd has a cross-offshore wind in the afternoon and 12ft SW swell – that could be decent. Thursday the 23rd morning looks promising with a clean cross-offshore wind and 12ft swell.
But let’s be real: the absolute highlight is Tuesday the 14th. Head out that morning or afternoon. That’s as good as it gets.
