Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let’s get into it. We’re looking at the next few weeks, and it’s a real mixed bag. There are some epic windows early on, but then we hit a messy stretch for quite a while. A couple of days stand out as real winners, so let’s get to ’em.
Right off the bat, we’re talking about Surfers Point – a solid reef break that’s been pumping and is super consistent. Water temp is about what you’d expect for this time of year, nothing wild there. The swell direction is SW, which lines up perfectly with the break’s best direction from the WSW.
Tuesday the 7th kicks things off with a bang. We’ve got a solid 12ft SW swell with a long 16-second period. That’s a proper groundswell packing a ton of energy (6420), and a light ESE breeze keeps it clean. This is top-tier for experienced surfers. The afternoon is still a solid 10ft and clean.
Now, Wednesday the 8th is the real standout. The morning is glassy – dead calm with a NW breeze at just 3 mph – and the swell is a powerful 12ft from the WSW with a 16-second period (6144 energy). The afternoon holds that same glassy condition. For a reef break, that combo is as good as it gets.
Thursday the 9th the wind shifts onshore, making it choppy, so we’ll sit that one out.
Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th offer cleaner conditions with smaller swell around 5ft to 8ft, but the real fireworks come back on Sunday the 12th. Sunday afternoon is my pick of the whole forecast. We’re talking an 12ft SW swell, a massive 17-second period, and a light cross-off breeze. The energy rating is 8131 – that’s an enormous amount of power. This is for experts only, but it will be a session to remember.
Monday the 13th keeps that 12ft SW swell going with clean conditions again.
After that, we hit a rough patch. From Wednesday the 15th through to Saturday the 19th, the wind gets nasty – strong onshore, cross-on, and even some rain. Swell gets up to a messy 15ft with short periods, and the conditions are poor. The surf quality scores hit zero for several days, making it a write-off for a solid stretch. The energy is still high with some big swells, but it’s just messy and dangerous.
Finally, things start to clean up again by Sunday the 19th. A 6ft SW swell with glassy conditions returns, and Monday the 20th has some 8ft SW swell, but the wind direction isn’t perfect.
The second week is more hit-and-miss. There’s still energy in the water, but the windows of clean wind are narrow. Keep an eye on the 21st and 22nd, but the forecast is less certain further out.
So, the absolute best on offer? Wednesday the 8th for that glassy, 12ft perfection, and Sunday afternoon the 12th for the biggest, most powerful clean swell of the whole run. Don’t sleep on those sessions.
Rusty.
