Table - best surf conditions forecast for Surfers Point over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is gonna be a wild ride, and I mean that literally. The pattern for the next couple of weeks is all about big, powerful, and often messy south-west groundswells hammering Surfers Point. This is a heavy, exposed reef that only works for experts, and we’re going to see a lot of it. The water temp is sitting about average for the time of year, which is nice, but you’ll need a thick wetsuit for the long sessions.
The first decent look starts Sunday the 13th. We’ve got a solid 13ft SW swell pumping in with a 16-second period – that’s a lot of energy (7227). The wind is light cross-on, so it’ll be a bit rippled, but for the experienced crew, there’s plenty of power to play with. Monday morning the 14th is a real standout. The wind swings around to a light NNE offshore, and the air is clear. The swell drops to 10ft, still SW, with a 15-second period and a moderate energy of 4079. The comment says "excellent surf conditions for experienced surfers," and I’d agree. That’s a clean, powerful session.
Wednesday the 16th is where things get ugly. A fresh breeze from the NNW kicks up, turning the 10ft SW swell into a lumpy, cross-onshore mess. The energy is still there (4125), but the quality is gone. Thursday and Friday the 17th and 18th are even worse with strong winds and rain, so I’d give those a miss.
Now, here’s the real standout. Sunday the 19th. The wind drops to *zero* – glassy conditions. The 13ft SW swell has a 14-second period, and the energy is a robust 5800. The comment says "exceptional surf conditions for expert surfers." That’s the one. The sets will be long and clean, and the reef will be firing. Crowds are possible as it’s "often" busy, but on a morning like that, it’s worth the paddle.
The second week is a bit of a gamble. Monday the 20th looks clean with a moderate offshore wind, but the swell drops to 10ft. Tuesday the 21st is cleaner with a fresh offshore, but the swell is smaller. Wednesday the 22nd is a monster – 18ft SW swell with a 16-second period, and the energy is massive (16696). That is too big for anyone but the absolute top-tier experts. The wind is cross-off, so it’ll be clean, but you’re looking at a serious, life-threatening wave. After that, it’s a write-off with strong onshore winds and rain through the end of the month. Friday the 24th and Saturday the 26th are just messy.
Overall, the best bets are Monday the 14th for a clean, powerful session, and Sunday the 19th for the glassy, exceptional conditions. The second week is promising but less certain – Wednesday the 22nd is huge, but only for the brave.
