Alright crew, Rusty here. Let’s talk about what’s cooking at Spot X for the next couple of weeks. We’re looking at a reef break that’s very consistent, exposed to a WSW swell window. The water temp is pretty average for this time of year, nothing to write home about.

First few days are a bit of a bust, to be honest. Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th are not worth the drive. There’s a solid groundswell, but the wind is cross-on or cross, with a moderate breeze making everything choppy and messy. Poor conditions all around.

We start seeing some light on Sunday the 12th. The swell is solid, 10 to 12 feet from the SW with a long period of 14 to 17 seconds. The energy is strong, hitting up to 8181. The wind goes offshore on Sunday morning, but it’s still a marginal call. The afternoon is better with a lighter cross-on wind. Monday the 13th keeps that big, long-period swell (12 feet, 16 seconds) but with a light cross-on breeze. It’s surfable, but not worth getting hyped about.

Now, for the crew that can handle it, Tuesday the 14th is a real window. The swell drops to 10 feet from the SW with a very long period of 15 seconds. The energy is still strong at 4462. The big win is the wind: we get a light offshore breeze from the NE all day, cleaning the place right up. Conditions are excellent for experienced surfers. This is a proper groundswell, so the reef will shape it up nicely, but 10 feet is expert territory. Expect some company, as crowds are listed as “sometimes”.

Wednesday the 15th is a write-off. The wind cranks up from the NNE to 25 mph, making it messy. Don’t bother.

Looking into the second week, we have a big one brewing. Saturday the 18th is a monster swell event. We’re looking at 16 to 20 feet from the WSW/SW with a very long period of 15 seconds. The energy reading is massive at 13798 (very strong). This is for expert surfers only. The wind is cross-shore, so it’ll be heavy, challenging, and a bit bumpy. For the big-wave chargers only.

Then, we get a taste of perfection. Sunday the 19th is a top pick. The wind goes offshore from the NE in the morning (3 mph) and then turns completely glassy in the afternoon. The swell is still a solid 10 to 13 feet, with a 12-second period. Conditions are described as “excellent” and “glassy”. This is the best day for the experienced surfer in the whole outlook. Crowds are listed as “sometimes,” but with that glass, expect it to be busy.

After that, the surf drops off and the wind turns onshore again through the 20th and 21st.

Wednesday the 22nd offers another clean look with a 10-foot WSW groundswell and light offshore wind. It’s good, but not a standout.

Finally, Saturday the 25th has another solid pulse of 12 feet from the SW with a very long 17-second period and a light offshore wind from the ENE. The energy is strong at 6619, and conditions are described as exceptional for experts. It’s a long way off, so mark it as a promising prospect, but don’t bank on it.

The standout day here is Sunday the 19th for experts who want clean, glassy, big surf. Tuesday the 14th is a close second for a slightly smaller but still clean session. The rest of the outlook is a mixed bag of big, windy days and smaller, choppy ones.

Rusty.
