Table - best surf conditions forecast for Spot x over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what Spot X has in store for us over the next couple of weeks.
The opening days are a bit of a write-off, with messy, choppy conditions and poor surf quality, so don't bother paddling out just yet. But hold on, because from Tuesday the 14th of July we get a real window of opportunity. The early part of the week is a bit rough, but the standout is definitely Tuesday morning, the 14th of July. We’ve got a solid 10ft SW groundswell with a long 15 second period, bumping the combined energy up to a strong 4643. The wind is a light offshore from the NE, meaning clean, lined-up waves. This is proper reef-break territory, so the long-period swell will be wrapping in nicely. The water temp is sitting at 66°F, which is about average for this time of year, so no shock to the system there. This is expert-level stuff at over 8ft, so leave the foamies at home. The afternoon on the 14th goes glassy with a 10ft SW swell, making for some epic evening sessions, but it’s still only for the experienced crew.
The next real highlight is a bit further out, on the morning of Wednesday the 22nd of July. This one is a promising long-range call. We’re looking at another 12ft SW groundswell, with a 14 second period and a strong combined energy of 4581. The wind is a clean offshore from the E, so expect tidy, hollow walls. Again, this is expert-only territory due to the size. The crowd factor is only "sometimes" at Spot X, so you might even get a few waves to yourself if you’re early.
After that, the 23rd and 24th of July still offer decent, cleaner swell with solid 8ft to 7ft SW groundswells and light offshore winds, keeping the quality high for experienced surfers, but the energy drops off a bit. The final weekend of the month looks like a total loss again, with howling onshore winds and massive, messy swell, so plan around that.
Stay keen, stay safe, and pick your windows.
