The Lowdown

Right, Bethany, it's a bit of a flat spell for us here, I won't lie. The whole 16-day window looks pretty grim, with no real standout sessions to get excited about. The swell just isn't showing up, and when it does, it's tiny and weak. We're looking at a long stretch of small, weak waves—mostly around 0.7ft to 2ft—with poor conditions. The water is a balmy 77°, which is much warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least it's nice for a swim.

Starting off Tuesday, September 8th, we've got a tiny 1.0ft swell from the ENE with a period of 9 seconds, but it's cross-offshore winds, and the surf is just poor. That's the story right through the rest of the week. There's a glimmer on Thursday afternoon, September 10th, with glassy conditions on a 0.7ft ESE swell, but it's still just too small to ride. The combined wave energy is barely a whisper at 9, so it's a dud.

The weekend doesn't bring any relief. Saturday, September 12th, has a 1.0ft SE swell with cross-shore winds and a chop. Sunday morning, September 13th, shows a slight bump to 3ft from the SE, with a combined energy of 161 (moderate), and cross-offshore breezes. The notes say "surfable waves but very ordinary conditions," which is about as optimistic as it gets. That's the best we've got, and it's still not great.

After that, it's back to the same pattern. The following week is a mix of tiny swells, onshore winds, and poor surf. There's a chance on Monday, September 21st, with a 2ft SSE swell and moderate offshore winds, but it's still just a knee-high dribble.

Look, this is one of those periods where the ocean just isn't cooperating. It's a blank run, and for a spot like this, it's not unusual to see a long stretch of nothing. Keep your eyes on the charts, but for now, the board stays in the shed. Rusty.

Short Range Forecast

Mostly dry. Warm (max 31°C on Thu afternoon, min 21°C on Tue morning). Winds increasing (calm on Tue afternoon, fresh winds from the SSW by Wed night).

Days 4-6 Weather Summary

Moderate rain (total 16mm), heaviest on Sat night. Warm (max 26°C on Sun morning, min 21°C on Fri morning). Wind will be generally light.
