Alright, let’s take a look at what’s on offer.
Honestly, it’s a tough stretch ahead for Chicahauk. We’ve got a long dry spell of no real surf to start the outlook. For the first few days, there's just enough bump in the water to call it waves, but barely. The one bright spot in the whole 16-day window is Thursday morning, July 9th. The swell’s only 3 ft out of the NE, but the period is real short at 6 seconds, so it’s going to be pretty weak and wonky. The combo energy is sitting at 73 (moderate wave energy).
The real star of that Thursday morning is the wind: glassy, no wind at all. That’s going to make the surface clean as a whistle. The water here is sitting at 82°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so definitely a tropical bath.
Other than that tiny glimpse, the rest of the fortnight is full of small, messy, or onshore slop. Nothing here worth getting excited about. It’s the kind of pattern where you’d have to be a beginner, or just really desperate to get wet. There is a brief window on the morning of Tuesday July 14th – 3 ft from the NNE but with a period of only 5 seconds. That’s short-period windswell, no shape, just lumpy. Combined energy is 68 (moderate wave energy), and it’s clean with a light breeze.
Through the second week, it’s the same story: tiny swell and mostly onshore or cross-shore winds keep things ordinary. For the whole 16 days, this is really a patch of poor conditions. Not a spot for a single standout day. No good options at all. When the surf is this flat and messy for this long, it’s just one of those quiet spells the area goes through. Might be a fun spot for kite surfing on some of those windy afternoons, but for paddle surfing? Nothing doing.
