Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jenkinsons (Point Pleasant Beach) over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's take a look at what's lined up for us at Jenkinsons (Point Pleasant Beach).
To be straight with you, the next sixteen days are looking pretty bleak for any decent waves. We’re kicking off Saturday, July 11th, and honestly, there’s not a single solid session on the cards. The whole run is filled with small, weak, and onshore-affected surf. There’s a real dry spell here, with no recommendations for the entire period.
The energy in the water is almost non-existent early on, with a combined energy of just 21 on Saturday morning. That’s barely a ripple. We see a tiny 1-foot East swell at a short, weak 7 seconds, paired with a cross-onshore breeze. That’s choppy and messy. Sunday, July 12th, isn't any better with a 4-foot East windswell, but it's blown out by a solid onshore wind. The water temp is about average for the time of year, not that it’ll matter much, as you’ll be sitting on your board waiting for a wave that never comes.
The closest we get to a clean surface is on Tuesday, July 14th, and Wednesday, July 15th, when a gentle offshore or cross-offshore wind comes through. But don't get excited. The swell drops to a pathetic 2 feet or less. You’d need a flat-water paddleboard to have any fun.
The only blip on the radar, and I’m talking way out there on the horizon, is Tuesday, July 21st. The models are showing a jump in swell height to 6 feet from the SSE, with combined energy jumping into the moderate range at 341. That’s a real increase, but it’s still flagged as poor surf conditions. The wind is directly onshore from the East, and at a beach/jetty setup like this, a 6-foot onshore mess is going to be a sloppy, blown-out crumble. That size is also getting too big for beginners. Honestly, with strong onshore winds and a beach setup, this whole stretch looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing.
Other than that distant Tuesday, the rest of the week stays tiny and weak, with energy values dropping back down to the single digits or low tens. It’s a long, quiet stretch.
Stay patient. It tends not to stay this poor forever, and forecasts can change, but for now, keep your board in the car and your expectations low.
Rusty.
