Table - best surf conditions forecast for Hollywood Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the cards for Hollywood Beach over the next couple of weeks.
Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you: the first week is a bit of a write-off. We’re looking at a long stretch of poor to marginal conditions from Thursday, July 9th, all the way through to Friday, July 17th. The swell is tiny, mostly around 1 ft to 3 ft, and the wind is constantly cross-on or onshore, keeping it bumpy and messy. There’s a couple of light breeze moments, but nothing that’ll clean it up enough to make it worth paddling out. The combined wave energy is weak, hovering around 100 to 300 (low energy), so you’re not getting much push. Honestly, it’s a good time to tune up your gear or just watch the horizon.
Now, the real story starts to build around Saturday, July 18th, and that’s where the pulse kicks in. Saturday morning sees a jump to 3 ft from the SSE, but the real deal is Saturday afternoon: a solid 6 ft swell from the SSE rolling in with a period of 17 seconds. That’s a proper groundswell, and the combined energy jumps to 2158 (strong to very strong wave energy). Sure, it’s a bit cross-on with a gentle breeze, but the size and power are there. This is the standout window for experienced surfers, as the 6 ft is getting into that “experts only” territory. If you’re a beginner, give this one a miss.
That swell carries into Sunday, July 19th, with 6 ft from the south in the morning and 5 ft in the afternoon, still with decent energy (1407 and 1104). The wind is light and cross-on, but with that much power, it’ll still be fun for the crew who know what they’re doing. Everything after that, from Monday, July 20th onward, drops back down to small, marginal surf again.
So, the one true standout is Saturday, July 18th afternoon, and Sunday, July 19th, at Hollywood Beach. The swell is from the SSE to S, size is 5 ft to 6 ft, and it’s got that long-period punch. The water temp is about average for this time of year, nothing crazy. Crowds are often an issue here, so if you’re heading out on that Saturday, expect company. But for a couple of days, it’ll be the best on offer.
Stay safe out there.
