Alright, Rusty here. Let’s break down the next couple of weeks. It’s a pretty quiet stretch for the most part. The first real chance to get a wave doesn’t come until Wednesday the 9th, and it’s nothing to write home about. There’s a big gap of nothing before that.

Port Hueneme Beach Park (beach/jetty) is the only spot in the picture. The water is warm, sitting at 70°, but it’s running a wild 6° warmer than usual for this time of year. That’s very unusual.

The first few days are a total loss. Friday the 4th through Monday the 7th, the swell is tiny and mostly onshore slop. You’re looking at 1 to 2 feet of weak, short-period junk. The combined energy is laughable, with values like 23 (Monday morning) to 261 (Friday afternoon). It’s a bust.

Tuesday the 8th afternoon shows a bit of a pulse, with a 3 ft SSW swell and a 13-second period, but the onshore wind is blowing 12 mph. It’s messy. The energy jumps to 365, but it’s still considered poor surf.

Wednesday the 9th is the first time we get a "marginal" call. The morning has 3 ft of SSW swell at 11 seconds, with light onshore wind. The afternoon is similar, 3 ft at 12 seconds, with a light onshore breeze. The energy is moderate (291 and 279). It’s barely surfable. You’ll be scratching.

The next semi-highlight is Tuesday the 15th morning. We get a 3 ft W swell, but the period is a short 8 seconds. The wind is light and cross-shore, which is okay. The energy is 158. It’s still not good, but the wind is the cleanest it gets for a while.

The best on offer is Saturday the 19th morning. The forecast shows 2 ft of SW swell, but here’s the real deal: the wind goes glassy. That’s a huge positive. The swell has a nice long period of 18 seconds, which is proper groundswell. The combined energy is 186. It’s small, but it could be clean and lined up. For a beach/jetty setup, that long period might make it a bit straight, but for a morning session with no wind, it’s your best bet. Crowds are possible at this spot.

After that, the afternoon turns onshore again. The rest of the window is a mix of tiny, weak swells and onshore wind. The energy values drop into the double digits (e.g., 23, 17, 8) for long stretches. It’s a quiet period, folks. If you’re desperate, you might get a knee-high wave on the 19th morning, but don’t bet the farm.
