Table - best surf conditions forecast for Fullers over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty, and I’ve got a long look at the 16-day window for Fullers. It’s a reef break, exposed to the SW, and it’s an advanced spot that’s inconsistent – so when it’s on, it’s a treat, but it won’t be pumping all the time.
The outlook starts on Monday, July 13th, and straight away we’ve got a bit of a tease. Monday morning is the standout of the entire first week. You’ll see a clean 3ft swell from the SSW, with a solid 13-second period, and the wind is glass. That’s a rare combo for Fullers, and the energy in the water is moderate (423). The water temp is about average for the time of year, so no surprises there. The crowd factor is “sometimes,” so you might get a few others out, but this is the best window of the whole period. Don’t sleep on it.
Later Monday afternoon, the wind shifts to a light cross, which drops the quality. Tuesday looks messy with a mix of cross-shore breezes and a weird short-period NW swell, so I’d skip it. Wednesday morning cleans up with a light NW cross-off and 4ft of NW swell, but the period is short at 8 seconds, so it’ll be a bit fat and walled-off. Still, it’s clean.
The next real highlight comes Thursday, July 16th, in the morning. That’s the biggest swell of the first week – 5ft from the NW, with a short 8-second period, but the energy is strong (710). The wind is a cross-off from the NW, so it’s clean. 5ft is pushing into the “too big for beginners” range, but for advanced surfers it’s a solid session. After that, the swell drops right off, and from Thursday afternoon through to the end of the first week, it’s a lot of marginal, small stuff with cross-shore winds. Not worth paddling out.
The second week (from around July 20th onward) is a long stretch of similar conditions. Most days you’re looking at knee-to-waist high swell (2ft to 4ft) from the SW or SSW, with periods swinging between 14 and 18 seconds. The energy is moderate to strong (often in the 600-1000 range), so there’s some push, but the winds are stubbornly cross-shore – light breezes, but always crossing. There’s one morning on Thursday, July 23rd, that pops a little higher at 4ft from the S, with a 14-second period and strong energy (1003), but the wind is still cross. It’s promising, but not a standout.
Friday, July 24th, and Saturday, July 25th, keep that same pattern: 3ft to 4ft from the S, with the wind staying cross. It’s surfable, but don’t expect perfection. The last few days (July 26-28) drop back to 2ft-3ft, with the wind eventually turning more cross-off on the 27th afternoon, but it’s small and inconsistent.
Bottom line: The best session is Monday morning, July 13th – glassy, clean, and a decent little SSW groundswell. After that, it’s a flat spell until Thursday, July 16th morning, which is the biggest wave day but short-period. The rest of the run is a waiting game, with small, crossing conditions. For a spot that’s inconsistent and advanced, you’ve got to pick your moment.
