The Lowdown
Alright, this is Rusty. Let's have a look at what's coming our way.
Right now, it's a bit of a flat spell. We're looking at a gap of a few days with nothing really worth paddling out for. The early part of the week is pretty ordinary, with small, weak waves and winds that aren't doing us any favours.
Things start to get interesting on August 27th. Thursday morning is where we see our first real standout. Arrawarra will be firing with a solid 6 ft swell coming from the SSE, with a period of 10 seconds, giving it moderate energy (740). The wind is a clean, moderate offshore from the SSW, which will have the point looking like a treat. That's the call for the experienced surfers, as the size is getting up there. The water temp is 67°, which is pretty normal for this time of year.
The next big highlight comes on August 30th. Sunday morning sees another pulse, with a 7 ft swell from the SSE and a 9-second period. The wind is strong offshore from the SSW again, making for a clean session. Combined energy is strong (718). This is again for the advanced crew, as it's pushing into the big stuff.
Then, on September 1st, we get the biggest event of the forecast. Tuesday morning brings a 7 ft swell from the SSE with a very long period of 12 seconds, giving us a very strong energy reading (2303). This is groundswell, and it will be breaking with power. A clean offshore wind from the S will keep it lined up. This one is for experts only.
So, the standout sessions are clearly August 27th, August 30th, and September 1st. Of those, September 1st has the most power and quality, but it's also the most critical. The winds are mostly clean for those windows, so if you can get out there, it'll be worth it.
Stay safe, and I'll catch you in the water.
