Table - best surf conditions forecast for Diggers over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ at Diggers.
Right now, things are pretty flat and messy. We’ve got a bit of a wait on our hands. The first real chance to get wet won’t be until Sunday morning, July 12th. That’s a few days out. Before that, Saturday afternoon the 11th is a write-off – small, choppy, and just not worth the paddle.
So, for Sunday morning the 12th, we’re looking at a clean 3 ft wave from the ESE with a 10-second period. The wind is blowing WNW at 9 mph, which is a nice cross-offshore breeze, keeping things tidy. The combined swell energy is moderate at 206, and the water temp is a touch cool at 68°, which is about normal for this time of year. It’s not big, but it’s a clean start.
The best of the whole run shapes up to be Wednesday morning, July 22nd. That’s more than a week away, so keep an eye on it, but it looks promising. We’ve got a solid 6 ft swell from the east with a long 13-second period. That’s proper groundswell energy, and it’ll be cleaner at a point or reef setup. The wind is light from the south at 6 mph, cross-offshore, and the combined energy is strong at 1057. This is the standout for experienced surfers.
The periods before and after that have a few decent windows. Thursday the 23rd morning has a clean 5 ft swell from the east, and Friday the 24th morning goes glassy with a 4 ft ESE groundswell. Both have light offshore or glassy wind, perfect conditions.
From the 16th through the 21st, the swell gets too big for Diggers, pushing over 8 ft. That’s expert-only territory, and it’s just too much juice for this spot. Don’t bother paddling out then unless you’re a pro and know what you’re doing.
So, to wrap it up: Sunday morning the 12th for a small, clean warm-up, and then circle Wednesday morning the 22nd as the real gem. It’s a long way off, but the signals are good.
Rusty.
