Table - best surf conditions forecast for Forster Beach (Nambucca) over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming up for Forster Beach (Nambucca). The water’s sittin’ at a pretty standard 67°F for this time of year, so nothin’ out of the ordinary there.
Alright, first up, Sunday the 12th – we’ve got a bit of a slow start. Morning’s the pick with a clean 3ft ESE swell, 10-second period, and light cross-off wind. Combined energy’s moderate (239). It’s surfable, but nothin’ to write home about. The afternoon gets a bit of a downgrade with the wind pickin’ up, but still offshore and clean.
Monday the 13th – real small. Morning’s glassy with only 1ft of ESE swell, period short at 8 seconds, and combined energy’s weak (60). You’d be paddlin’ for tiny ones. Afternoon goes onshore and messy.
Tuesday the 14th – forget it. Swell drops to 0.7ft, combined energy’s barely a whisper (18). Wednesday the 15th morning has a bit of 3ft S swell but it’s short-period (7 secs) and the wind’s blowin’ 12 mph cross-off. Combined energy is still weak (89). Afternoon gets a jump in size to 7ft S swell, but period’s a poor 7 seconds, wind’s howlin’ 19 mph – combined energy jumps to 509 (moderate), but this is messy, choppy, and more for the kite crew than paddle surfers.
Now here’s where it gets heavy – Thursday the 16th through to Sunday the 19th, the swell absolutely pumps up. Thursday morning sees 12ft SSE swell with 9-second period, cross-off wind at 16 mph, combined energy is strong (1965). The swell’s well over 8ft, so this is experts only. Same story Thursday afternoon – 13ft SSE, energy 2689. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all have surf between 10ft and 13ft, with combined energy in the thousands – strong to very strong. Winds are cross or cross-off, but it’s big, powerful, and not for the faint-hearted. This is big-wave territory.
Monday the 20th – finally drops back to a more manageable 8ft E swell, 10-second period, with clean offshore SW wind at 6 mph. Combined energy’s still strong (1344). This is excellent for experienced surfers. Still too big for beginners, but for those who know what they’re doin’, it’s a standout.
Tuesday the 21st – glassy morning! 6ft E swell, 10-second period, combined energy moderate (608). Clean, glassy conditions – that’s a beauty. Wednesday the 22nd and Thursday the 23rd stay in the 2ft to 4ft range, with clean conditions – Thursday morning is glassy again with 2ft ESE swell, combined energy 205 (weak-moderate), but it’ll be clean and small.
Friday the 24th – a nice little pulse of S swell at 4ft, 11-second period (longer period, more energy), combined energy 490 – clean cross-off wind. Saturday the 25th keeps that S swell going – 4ft to 4ft, light to gentle cross-off, clean, combined energy in the 350-390 range. Sunday the 26th morning sees 6ft S swell, short-period 8 seconds, but clean with cross-off wind – combined energy 658 (moderate).
Best on offer? I’d put my money on Monday the 20th for the experienced crew – 8ft E swell, offshore wind, clean, plenty of power. And for the glassy small-wave session, Tuesday the 21st morning is a gem – 6ft, glass, clean – perfect for a fun session.
Signin’ off, Rusty.
