Table - best surf conditions forecast for Forster Beach (Nambucca) over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s break down what’s coming for Forster Beach (Nambucca). This is a beginner-friendly, fairly consistent beach break that’s open to the swell, and the water temp is about 67°F, which is normal for the season. Nothing wild.
There’s a quiet start, but things fire up on Wednesday, 8 July. The afternoon brings a solid 10ft SSE swell with an 11-second period, and the combined energy is a strong 3825. That’s a lot of power for a beach, and it’s too big for beginners. The wind is a cross-off SSW at 12 mph, keeping it clean, but this is only for the experienced. The swell direction is spot on from the SE.
Thursday, 9 July, is a better call for the crew who can handle it. Morning has a 7ft SSE swell, 10-second period, energy 1026, with a light SW cross-off at 9 mph. Clean and very good for experienced surfers. The afternoon drops to a 7ft SE swell, 10-second period, energy 963, with a light SSW cross-off at 6 mph. Still clean and very good.
Friday, 10 July, keeps the quality. Morning has a 7ft SE swell, 10-second period, energy 909, with a light SW cross-off at 6 mph. Clean. The afternoon is a bit more marginal as the wind goes SE cross, but the swell is still a clean 7ft from the SE at 11 seconds, energy 905.
Saturday, 11 July, is the real gem. The morning is glassy with a NW wind at 3 mph, and a 5ft SE swell at 9 seconds. The energy is 610, and it’s clean, clean, clean. Perfect for beginners and intermediates.
Sunday, 12 July, is still worth a look. Morning has a 3ft ESE swell, 10-second period, energy 258, with a 9 mph offshore WSW wind. Clean and fun. The afternoon gets gustier with a 15 mph SW offshore, dropping the swell to 3ft, energy 163, but still clean.
From Monday, 13 July, through Wednesday, 15 July, the surf dies. We’re looking at tiny swells under 3ft, with energy below 100. Mostly glassy or calm, but not enough push to get excited. A typical flat spell.
Then, Thursday, 16 July, the ocean gets angry. Morning has a 8ft S swell, 7-second period, energy 703, but it’s short period with a cross-off SW wind at 12 mph. The afternoon brings a 13ft SSE swell, 9-second period, energy 2531, with a light cross-on. That’s too big for this beach and more of a kite-surfing show.
Friday, 17 July, is a no-go for paddle surfing. Solid 10ft SSE swell, 9-second period, energy over 1300, but with strong S winds at 25-28 mph. Clean but way too big and windy.
The weekend of 18-19 July looks similar: 8ft to 10ft SSE and S swells, short periods, strong S winds. Energy over 850. Not for paddle surfers.
From Monday, 20 July, things improve. A 7ft SSE swell, 11-second period, energy 1038, with a moderate cross-off S wind at 12 mph. Clean and surfable for experienced crew.
Tuesday, 21 July, morning is the pick of the second week. A 6ft SSE swell, 11-second period, energy 703, with a gentle SW cross-off at 9 mph. Clean and very good.
Wednesday, 22 July, through Thursday, 23 July, the swell drops to 3ft SE and ESE, with periods around 9-10 seconds. Light offshore winds on the mornings keep it clean, with energy around 200-337. Fun, small waves for the longboard or foil.
To sum it up: the best on offer is Saturday, 11 July, morning – glassy, 5ft, clean, perfect for all levels. The other standout is Thursday, 9 July, morning – 7ft, clean, cross-off, for the experienced. Second week, keep an eye on Tuesday, 21 July, morning.
Rusty out.
