Table - best surf conditions forecast for Pleasure Point-First Peak over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what’s coming up for Pleasure Point-First Peak.
The next 16 days start off pretty quiet. Honestly, we’re looking at a run of pretty ordinary surf through the first week and a half. There’s a bit of energy around, but it’s mostly small and the conditions aren't lining up for anything special. The best stuff is waiting for us in the second week, so keep your powder dry.
We’ve got a solid swell building for the morning of Monday, 20 July. That’s the standout. We’re looking at a nice 4ft SSW groundswell, with a very long period of 18 seconds. That’s proper energy arriving, and the combined energy is strong at 1203. The wind is glassy, so it’s going to be clean and lined up. The temperature is running about average for the time of year. This is the one to circle on the calendar. The afternoon holds similar promise with 4ft, same direction, and still glassy with 1275 energy. It’ll be a great day.
Before that, Thursday afternoon, 9 July offers a little taste. We’ve got a 3ft SSW swell, super long period of 16 seconds, and a light offshore wind. The energy is moderate at 804. It’s clean, but it’s small. A decent warm-up, but not the main event.
After the 20th, Tuesday morning, 21 July keeps the momentum with 5ft from the S, clean conditions, and moderate energy (933). That’s a bit of size, but still manageable for experienced surfers.
The rest of the run is mostly small, cross-shore wind, and poor to ordinary conditions. The swell is just too weak and the wind isn’t doing us any favors. The gap from the 11th through the 19th is pretty barren, with the odd day offering a clean but tiny wave. It’s a waiting game.
Rusty.
