Table - best surf conditions forecast for Eerste Steen over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Gonna break down this 16-day stretch for you, but I'm thinking in feet and miles per hour. It starts a little mellow, but don't worry, there's some heavy-hitting days in the pipeline, especially if you're a charger.
The first week is a slow build, then it gets serious. We got two sessions that really stand out, so listen up.
The first chance to get wet is Monday morning, July 13th at Eerste Steen. We're looking at a clean 3 ft swell from the SSW, period is a decent 10 seconds. The wind is dead calm, glassy as can be. Water temp is about normal for this time of year. The combined energy is moderate (271). It's small but clean for a log. That afternoon, the wind picks up a touch, and conditions get a little ordinary.
Tuesday, July 14th is a dud with side and side-onshore breezes. So let's jump to the first real standout.
Wednesday morning, July 15th is a wake-up call. The swell jumps to a solid 5 ft from the SW, and the period stretches way out to 16 seconds. That's deep-ocean groundswell. The combined energy is strong (1343), and with the wind off the land and glassy, it's gonna be clean. This is for the experienced surfer. That long period can make beach breaks wall up, but at Eerste Steen, it should shape up.
Thursday morning, July 16th is another big one for the pros. We got a powerful 8 ft SW swell with a 13-second period. The combined energy is very strong (2381), and the glassy conditions are back. Huge, clean lines. If you're intermediate, that 8 ft is pushing it.
The weekend gets a little bumpy with rising SSE winds on Friday, but Saturday morning, July 18th settles down real nice. The swell drops to a cleaner 4 ft from the S, period 12 seconds, and it's glassy. Combined energy is moderate (588). A perfect window for the intermediates and longboarders.
Sunday morning, July 19th is also looking top-notch. The swell is back up to a solid 7 ft from the WSW, period 12 seconds, with a clean offshore wind from the NNE. Combined energy is moderate (1157). Expect some solid, clean waves.
Now for the second week, we're talking about proper swell. Get ready.
Tuesday morning, July 21st is a massive standout for experts only. The swell hits a thumping 10 ft from the SW, period a very long 16 seconds. The combined energy is incredibly strong (4682). The wind is clean offshore from the ESE. This is big, powerful water. Not for the faint of heart.
Wednesday morning, July 22nd keeps the energy high with a 7 ft SW swell and a 15-second period. Combined energy is very strong (3878), and the offshore wind is still blowing from the N. Another one for the experienced crew.
Thursday morning, July 23rd the swell peaks at a massive 15 ft from the SW. The combined energy is extremely strong (6594) and the wind is clean offshore from the NE. The notes say it's too big for the break. Absolute chargers only. That afternoon, it drops to 8 ft and goes glassy, which is a better window for the advanced guys.
The last few days have some gems. Sunday, July 27th afternoon sees a glassy 8 ft SW swell, combined energy is very strong (2187), a fantastic final session for experienced surfers. Tuesday morning, July 28th finishes the forecast with a solid 7 ft SW swell, period 13 seconds, combined energy strong (1497). Another good one for the experienced.
So here's the bottom line. For the advanced crew, circle Wednesday morning, July 15th and Thursday morning, July 16th for a clean and powerful start. But the real golden ticket, if you've got the skills for it, is Tuesday morning, July 21st with that 10 ft of long-period groundswell and clean wind. It's a week and a half out, so keep an eye on it, but the potential is massive.
Stay safe, and enjoy the ride.
