Table - best surf conditions forecast for Eerste Steen over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s break it down.
We’ve got some proper swell coming into Eerste Steen. The first real standout is Friday the 10th of July morning – a solid 8ft SSW groundswell with a 13-second period. That’s real ocean energy, and with a light cross-offshore breeze it’s going to be clean. The combined energy is pumping at 2402 (moderate-strong), so plenty of power. This is one for experienced surfers only – that size and punch at a fairly exposed break will sort the men from the boys. Water temp is nothing special, about average for the season.
Saturday the 11th morning is also a good call – still 7ft from the SSW, 12-second period, clean with that ESE cross-off wind. Energy’s at 1591. A bit smaller but still good. Crowds are possible here sometimes, so don’t be late.
Then it eases through Sunday and Monday with smaller, clean waves – 5ft and 3ft – good for the intermediate crowd. Tuesday the 14th drops right off, tiny 3ft waves, glassy but weak.
The next real highlight is Thursday the 16th of July morning – another 8ft SW groundswell, 13 seconds, and clean with a light offshore breeze. Energy’s at 1874. That’s a proper session for the experienced guys.
There’s a huge spike on Saturday the 18th afternoon – a 13ft WSW swell with 13 seconds and light offshore wind – but it’s simply too big for this break. Wednesday the 24th is crazy: a 25ft WSW swell with glassy conditions and combined energy of 22563 – that’s extreme. Not for paddle surfing. For those days, it looks more interesting for kite surfing than a paddle session.
Best calls: Friday 10th morning and Thursday 16th morning. Clean, powerful, proper. Saturday 11th is a solid backup. The rest of the window is small, blown, or just way too big.
Rusty.
