Alright, Rusty here. Let’s talk about Dumps.

The next few days are a mixed bag, but the real standout is going to be Wednesday afternoon, July 8th. The swell is a solid 7ft from the southwest, with a strong 13-second period, and the combined energy is cranking at 2420 – that’s proper power. The wind is dead calm, glassy as a mirror. That’s the kind of session you remember. The water is sitting at 58°, which is a bit colder than normal for this time of year, so don’t forget a hood if you’re sensitive.

The morning of the 8th is also glassy, with the same 7ft SW swell, but the energy is a touch lower at 1370. Still, it’s a good warm-up. As we roll into Wednesday afternoon, the wind shifts to a light cross-offshore, and the swell holds at 7ft SW with energy up to 2530. Clean, lined-up waves.

Thursday the 9th picks up a bit, with swell hitting 8ft to 10ft from the SSW, and energy through the roof (up to 2713). But the wind is up to 12 mph from the SSE, cross-offshore. It’s clean, but it’s a bit of a handful. The 10ft stuff is pushing into expert territory, especially with the period at 13 seconds. If you’re not confident, sit this one out.

Friday the 10th keeps the size at 10ft, same SSW direction, but the wind is up to 12 mph from the SE. It’s still clean, but the energy is massive (2906). This is a big, powerful swell. The setup here is a sandbar, and with that long period, it’s going to be a bit straight and fast. Not ideal for a beach break, but if you’re a charger, you’ll find a peak.

By Saturday morning July 11th, the wind turns offshore from the ESE, a light 6 mph, and the swell drops to 7ft from the SSW. The energy is still strong at 1299, but it’s much more manageable. This is a good window for intermediate surfers. The afternoon picks up again to 7ft, but the wind goes cross-offshore.

Sunday the 12th lights up with a clean 4ft SSW swell and offshore wind in the morning. Energy is 501 – moderate, but the waves will be clean and fun. The afternoon gets messy with a cross-shore wind.

After that, we hit a dry spell. From Monday the 13th through to the 16th, it’s mostly small, weak, and blown out. Swell drops below 3ft, winds are light but onshore or cross-onshore. The energy is under 300. Not worth paddling out.

Then things start to look interesting again. On Thursday July 16th, a new 8ft WSW swell arrives with a light onshore wind. It’s marginal, but the energy is back up to 1648. The wind is onshore, so it’s not perfect, but it’s a sign of life.

The real standout of the second week is Sunday July 19th. The morning session is flat-out glassy, with a 10ft WSW swell, 11-second period, and energy at 2095. That’s a big, clean swell. The afternoon gets a bit lumpy with a cross-onshore wind, but the swell holds at 10ft with a 14-second period, and energy jumps to 3638. That’s a seriously powerful groundswell. For a sandbar, that long period might make the waves a bit straight, but the power is undeniable. If you’re an expert, that’s your window.

The following Monday the 20th still has a solid 7ft WSW swell in the morning, but the wind is cross-shore. The afternoon is glassy again with 6ft WSW and energy at 1030 – clean and fun.

After that, the swell fades into the 21st and 22nd with small, short-period stuff. The 22nd afternoon has a weird 8ft NNW swell, but it’s only 7 seconds, and the wind is howling at 19 mph. That’s kite-surfing territory, not for paddling.

So, overall, the best windows are:
- Wednesday July 8th afternoon – glassy, 7ft SW, massive energy.
- Saturday July 11th morning – offshore wind, 7ft SW, clean and powerful.
- Sunday July 19th morning – glassy, 10ft WSW, huge energy for experts.

This spot is inconsistent, so when it fires, it’s worth the wait. Crowds are a possibility, but when it’s this good, everyone shows up.

Rusty.
