G'day, Rusty here. Let's get straight into it. The water's a bit chilly at Sollys right now, sitting at 57°F, which is a touch colder than usual for this time of year. That's the anomaly we're dealing with, but once you're in the zone, you won't care.

The first half of the period is a mixed bag. Wednesday the 5th is a write-off with fresh cross-onshore winds and lumpy, poor surf. You can hang up the board for the day. But then Thursday the 6th morning is where it starts to get interesting. A solid 12 ft SW groundswell (period 13 seconds) rolls in with clean offshore SSE winds, creating excellent conditions for experienced surfers. The combined energy is pumping at 3728, and the swell direction is bang on the optimum from the SW. This is a standout session for the crew who can handle it.

Friday the 7th keeps the quality going. Early morning, light cross-off winds with a 10 ft SW groundswell (14 seconds) and the energy building to 4078. Excellent surf for experienced surfers again. The afternoon is a bit more mixed with a cross-shore, but still decent.

Saturday the 8th is a real highlight. The morning is clean with a 8 ft SW swell, but the afternoon absolutely fires. A 12 ft SW groundswell (14 seconds) with clean cross-off winds and a massive combined energy of 5144. This is exceptional surf for experts, the kind of session that makes the whole trip worth it.

Sunday the 9th and Monday the 10th get blown out by gale-force offshore winds. The Sunday morning has a strong offshore breeze at 28 mph, making it hard to paddle into, and by Monday afternoon, it's near gale and messy. The swell drops to 5 ft on Tuesday the 11th morning, but the afternoon comes back with a clean 6 ft SE windswell (8 seconds) and light offshore winds. A solid option for the experienced crew.

We hit a bit of a lull from Wednesday the 12th through to Friday the 14th morning. The swell's around 5 ft to 7 ft, but the wind is mostly cross-onshore or onshore, making for marginal conditions. The energy drops off too. Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th are better. Saturday morning is glassy with a 6 ft WSW groundswell (13 seconds) and combined energy of 904. Sunday morning is even better—totally glassy, calm wind, with a 6 ft WSW swell (12 seconds). Both days have clean, fun waves for the intermediate crowd.

Monday the 17th and Tuesday the 18th are a step back with cross-onshore winds and lumpy surf. The energy jumps back up Tuesday afternoon with a 8 ft WSW swell but the wind is onshore, so it's a no-go. Wednesday the 19th is a return to form: clean offshore winds in the morning with a 6 ft WSW groundswell, and a glassy 5 ft swell in the afternoon. Thursday the 20th finishes the period with a fresh cross-off wind and a 7 ft WSW swell, but it's a bit marginal.

Overall, the standout is Thursday the 6th morning and Saturday the 8th afternoon. Those are the sessions to circle on the calendar. The rest of the period has some fun windows, but those two are the real gold.
