Alright, Rusty here, let's break it down.

We got a solid run of surf coming for Magna-Tubes. This reef break is an advanced wave, fairly consistent, and it likes a SE swell, so those long-period groundswells from the south are gonna be the main show. The water's sitting at 64° this week, which is a bit colder than usual for July.

The first little pulse hits Monday the 13th, but Monday morning's looking average. You got a 6ft swell from the east with a short 7-second period, weak energy (895), and a cross-on wind making things a little lumpy. Not one to rush out for. Monday afternoon gets worse, so we'll just skip it.

Now, things clean right up on Tuesday morning the 14th. That's where it starts getting interesting. The swell drops a touch to 5ft, coming from the ESE with a better 9-second period, and here’s the key – the wind goes glassy. That's going to be clean, smooth, and way more fun. The wave energy is moderate (486). That's a solid morning for those who know what they're doing.

Wednesday the 15th carries that clean quality through, with a building long-period swell. The morning has a smaller 4ft E swell (304 energy) but still clean with a cross-off wind. Then Wednesday afternoon is a real standout: 3ft from the SW with a long 12-second period. That combined energy jumps to 664, and the wind stays cross-off. The waves will have way more shape and punch than the size suggests – these are the kind of sneaky good afternoons you don't want to miss.

But let's be real – the big dog is Thursday the 16th. This is a potential session of the week. Thursday morning we've got a 10ft pulse from the SW, with a super long 14-second period. The combined wave energy is massive at 3345. The wind is glassy. That is a powerful, clean, expert-level swell. It's too big for beginners and will only be for the well-prepared. Thursday afternoon settles slightly to 8ft with a 13-second period and still glassy – still excellent, still for experienced surfers only.

Friday the 17th, the swell holds at 10ft with a 12-second period and strong energy (3068), but the wind goes cross-off and fresh at 22 mph. It's still surfable for those with the skills, but it won't be as clean as Thursday.

Then we hit a rough patch. Saturday the 18th through Monday the 20th sees the swell drop and the wind swing cross-on, making conditions poor to marginal. Not worth paddling out.

But hold on, because Tuesday the 21st is another bomb. The morning shows 8ft from the SSW with a very long 16-second period and a cross-off wind that's a bit fresh at 19 mph. Energy is massive (3530). Then Tuesday afternoon gets even bigger: 12ft from the SW, 15-second period, and incredible energy at 5892. The wind eases, but it’s still a serious wave – expert territory only.

Wednesday the 22nd is shaping up to be the absolute standout of the entire outlook, if it holds. Wednesday morning is a glassy 12ft SW swell with a 14-second period and energy reading 4894. That's about as clean and powerful as it gets for an expert. Wednesday afternoon the size jumps to 16ft (14481 energy!) with an onshore wind, so that's going to be a beast and probably not as clean.

Thursday the 23rd keeps the quality high with offshore winds and 12ft SW swell – excellent conditions for the crew who can handle it. Friday the 24th is another day of solid, big surf at 15ft, but that cross-off wind at 9 mph keeps it manageable.

After that, the surf slowly winds down through the 25th into the 26th, where things get blown out by a strong cross-on wind.

So here's the takeaway: for the experienced surfer, Thursday morning the 16th and Wednesday morning the 22nd are the true standouts. Both offer glassy conditions, a solid 10ft to 12ft SW groundswell, and massive energy. The 22nd is a full week and a half away, so it's a promising long-range call – keep an eye on it. For the everyday surfer looking for clean, fun waves, Tuesday morning the 14th and Wednesday afternoon the 15th are your best bets.

Rusty.
