Table - best surf conditions forecast for Buffalo Bay Wildside over the next 16 days.

Alright folks, Rusty here, let’s get into it. We’ve got a solid run of swell coming down the pike, but you’re gonna need to pick your moments. The first few days offer some real power, but the wind and size are going to be very demanding. Hang tight, and I’ll walk you through the best bits.

The main event is Buffalo Bay Wildside. It’s an exposed, inconsistent spot, so when it lights up, it’s a session to remember. The water temp is sitting about average for this time of year at 62°, so nothing unusual, just a typical winter feel.

The real standout starts Friday afternoon, July 10th. We’ve got a beefy 10ft SSW groundswell rolling in with a period of 13 seconds, driving a massive 2773 units of energy. The wind is glassy, which is a major positive. But look, this is a big call: at 10ft, this is strictly for experienced surfers. It’s a powerful, heavy wave that will be too much for most. The swell direction is straight from the south-southwest, which is a great match for the break’s preferred SE flow, but the raw power is the story here. The crowd profile is “sometimes,” so on a Friday afternoon, expect a few other chargers out there, but it’s not a circus.

Saturday morning, July 11th, the swell drops slightly to 8ft from the SSW, still a groundswell at 12 seconds. The energy is still high at 1999 units. Wind is a clean cross-offshore from the east. This is still expert territory, but the conditions are excellent. The afternoon holds similar, with a slight drop in energy to 1757 units.

For the weekend warriors, Sunday morning, July 12th, is a better bet. The swell drops to a more manageable 5ft from the SSW, with 11-second period. The energy is a moderate 784 units. The wind is a clean cross-off from the east, making for a very good session. This is still a solid wave, but it’s opening up for strong intermediates.

Monday morning, July 13th, sees a shift. The wind goes glassy, and we get a 5ft ESE swell with an 8-second period. The energy is moderate at 608 units. This is a much smaller, more manageable day, and the glassy conditions will make it fun for anyone who can handle the inconsistent nature of the break.

The second week really heats up again. Thursday morning, July 16th, is a pure power session. A 10ft SSW groundswell, 14-second period, and a massive 3057 units of energy. But the wind is light cross-onshore, which will put some chop on the face. Still, for the big-wave crew, that’s a serious window. It’s a similar story on Thursday afternoon, with 8ft and 2523 units but the wind is still cross-onshore.

Then, the next absolute standout is Sunday morning, July 19th. Glassy conditions, a 7ft SSE groundswell with a 13-second period, and 1758 units of energy. The wind is dead calm from the northwest. This is a premium session for experienced surfers. The swell direction is a touch south of the optimum, but the power and clean conditions will make it an epic session.

The flurry continues into the final week. Wednesday morning, July 22nd, is a rare treat with zero wind, glassy conditions, and a 5ft SSW groundswell at 13 seconds. The energy is 809 units. This is a very good, clean wave that will be a welcome sight for good surfers.

Thursday, July 23rd, is another big one. 8ft SW groundswell, 13-second period, with a clean cross-off from the east. The energy is 2577 units. This is excellent, powerful surf for experienced surfers. The wind is perfect, the swell is big, and the direction is locked in.

After that, the swell holds but the wind turns onshore, making the last few days of the period less appealing. The energy stays high, but the quality drops.

So, the two absolute standouts are Friday afternoon, July 10th, for the sheer power and glassy conditions (strictly for the brave), and Sunday morning, July 19th, for the combination of glassy wind and a powerful, clean groundswell that will be a joy to surf. That’s where the magic is.

Rusty.
