Updates in  hr  min  s Forecast update imminent

Alright, Rusty here, checkin’ in with a long-range look at what’s comin’ our way. We’ve got a solid run ahead, so let’s get into it.

The first surf worth paddling out for is this Sunday, July 5th. Lookout Beach is the only game in town, but it’s a beauty to start. We’ve got a clean 4.6ft swell rollin’ in from the ESE with a nice 12-second period. The water’s sittin’ at 62.6°, which is just a tick cooler than normal for this time of year, so nothin’ shockin’. Sunday mornin’ is glassy with barely a puff of wind, and that holds into the afternoon. You’re lookin’ at clean, fun waves with moderate energy (756), perfect for a beginner-friendly spot. This is a great, low-stress kickoff to the week.

Monday the 6th sees the swell bump up to 5.9ft from the SW, but the wind switches to a light cross-onshore from the East. It’ll be a bit lumpy, nothin’ special. The energy is rampin’ up (1073), but the quality just ain’t there for a standout.

Now, Tuesday the 7th is where we start cookin’. Mornin’ brings a clean 6.2ft SW swell with a cross-offshore breeze from the WSW, cleanin’ things right up. Then Tuesday afternoon? Glassy again, 6.2ft from the SW, energy at 1090. This is the first real highlight – consistent, clean, and with a bit of power. Keep an eye on Lookout, because Wednesday the 8th mornin’ is a genuine standout. We’ve got 6.9ft of SW swell with a 13-second period, and a light offshore wind from the West. The energy jumps to 1779, and the comment says it all: excellent for experienced surfers. For the more advanced crew, this is your window. Wednesday afternoon holds good shape but a touch of cross-off wind.

Thursday the 9th is the big one. This is the best on offer across the whole forecast. Mornin’ has 9.8ft of SSW groundswell at 14 seconds, with glassy conditions. The combined energy is massive at 3353. This is serious, powerful groundswell for experienced surfers only. The afternoon stays glassy with 9.8ft at 13 seconds, energy at 3042. If you’ve got the skills, this is the session to circle on the calendar. That long period will be better for the points and reefs than the beach, but if Lookout handles it, you’ll be in for a ride.

Friday the 10th drops to onshore wind and messy conditions, despite the same 9.8ft swell. Not worth it.

The next week shows more pulses. Saturday the 11th afternoon cleans up with a 5.9ft SSW swell and cross-offshore wind, a decent session. Sunday the 12th is clean and fun with 5.2ft. Then there’s a gap Monday the 13th with gale-force offshore wind (22 mph) and windy, poor surf – a write-off. Tuesday the 14th and Wednesday the 15th are small and calm, with clean but tiny 3.3ft to 3.9ft waves – glassy, but the energy is low.

Then we get another big peak on Thursday the 16th afternoon. A late-round standout: 9.8ft of SSW swell again, but with a shorter 9-second period and a clean cross-offshore wind from the NW. Energy hits 2600. It’s big, powerful, and clean, but the short period will make it a bit more on top of itself – still excellent for experienced surfers.

The final few days settle down. Saturday the 18th is clean and fun with 5.6ft, and Monday the 20th ends the run with a glassy 3.9ft day.

So, if you’re pickin’ your sessions: Thursday July 9th is the absolute standout for size and power. For clean, all-round fun, hit Tuesday July 7th afternoon or Saturday July 18th. The big one on the 16th is a worthy backup. Crowds at Lookout Beach can show up sometimes, so expect a few others in the water when the conditions are prime.

Stay stoked.
