Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tubes over the next 16 days.
Alright Rusty here, let’s look at what’s coming up for Tubes in feet and miles per hour.
The first few days are a bit touch and go. Wednesday the 8th kicks off with swell around 8 to 10 feet, SSW groundswell, 13-second period. Wind is 12 to 22 mph from the west, cross-off, so it’s clean but the tide’s working against it. Wave energy is strong (2048 to 3357), but it’s a marginal call.
Thursday the 9th is the real deal. Morning brings 11–12 feet of SSW groundswell, 14-second period, with west-southwest offshore wind at 15 mph. That’s clean, powerful, and the energy is up at 4349. Afternoon holds similar size with lighter offshore breeze. This is expert level, but the quality is top-notch.
Friday the 10th stays solid: 11 feet SSW groundswell, 13-second period, light west winds. The energy is still in the 4500 range. Cross-off, but light enough to stay clean. Another excellent day for those who can handle it.
Then it goes quiet. From Saturday the 11th through Tuesday the 15th, the wind turns onshore from the east, and the swell drops from 8 feet down to 2 feet. The energy falls into the low hundreds. Not worth the paddle. That’s about a 5-day gap with no real surf.
Things wake up again Wednesday the 16th. A new pulse hits 13 feet from the west-southwest, but the period is only 10 seconds and the wind is howling 25 mph cross-off. Big, but rough. By Friday the 17th afternoon, conditions align: 13 feet of SSW groundswell, 13-second period, and the wind goes glassy—just 3 mph from the south. That’s a standout for experts: glassy, heavy, and deep. Energy is 4879.
Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th are blown out with strong onshore wind, even though Sunday afternoon has an 8-foot, 17-second groundswell. Too long a period and onshore wind means messy.
Looking into the third week, Tuesday the 21st morning offers 4 feet of SW groundswell, 12-second period, with glassy conditions. Clean and small, good for intermediates. Then Thursday the 23rd morning returns to 8 feet SW, 15-second period, with a moderate offshore breeze. That’s another strong session for experienced surfers.
Your standouts: Thursday the 9th and Friday the 10th for consistent, offshore power. And Friday the 17th afternoon for that rare glassy, heavy session. Crowds are possible at Tubes, so time it right.
Rusty out.
