Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tubes over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s look at what’s coming up for Tubes (this zone is a reef and point setup). It’s a spot that likes a good SSW swell and when it lines up, it can be world-class. We’ve got a lot of action on the charts, but there's a bit of a wait and some serious size to handle. Water temp is sittin’ around 64°, which is about 3° colder than usual for this time of year – you’ll feel that nip in the water, so a decent suit is the call.
The real action doesn't kick off until Tuesday the 14th. That morning, we get a clean, glassy start with a 5ft swell from the ESE. It’s a moderate energy day (545), but that morning session will be smooth and inviting for intermediates.
Wednesday the 15th is a write-off for waves, just tiny leftovers.
Now, Thursday the 16th is where it gets serious. The morning shows a thumping 10ft SW groundswell with a long 14-second period. The energy is huge (3031). The morning wind is a bit messy, but Thursday afternoon the wind goes offshore from the SW, cleaning up a solid 8ft swell (2254). This is one for experienced surfers only—that size at a reef is no joke.
Friday the 17th is pure, raw power. Morning sees an 12ft SW swell with strong offshore winds from the WSW. The combined energy is massive (3131), but the wind is howling at 22 mph, making it a battle. Afternoon drops to 10ft but stays clean. This is expert territory.
It goes a bit lumpy over the weekend of the 18th and 19th with some onshore wind and dropping swell, but there's a clean 4ft on the Sunday 19th.
The next major standout is Wednesday the 22nd. This is a potential day for the books. We’ve got an 12ft SSW groundswell with a very long, powerful 16-second period. The combined swell energy is absolutely pumping at 6269. Wednesday morning is glassy, dead calm. This is an excellent, powerful swell for experienced surfers who know the line-up. The crowd will be there, so expect it to be busy.
From there, the swell stays well overhead through the end of the month. Thursday the 23rd afternoon has offshore winds and a clean 8ft SSW swell (2403). Friday the 24th morning is another gem: glassy conditions with a solid 10ft SW groundswell, 15-second period, and energy at 3365. Beautiful and clean.
Saturday the 25th afternoon is also a standout: offshore breeze, an 12ft SSW swell, and a long 16-second period. Super clean for the experts.
The final call is Monday the 27th morning. A massive 13ft SW groundswell with a 15-second period, clean offshore winds, and the highest combined energy of the whole forecast at 6573. This is proper, heavy, big-wave territory. If you have the skills and the watercraft, this is the one. No room for beginners here.
So, the standout windows: Thursday 16th (PM) for the first big, clean swell, and the absolute pinnacle is Wednesday 22nd (AM). The run from the 22nd to the 27th is a solid run of big, powerful, clean swell for the experienced crew. Beginners should stay well clear of this whole stretch after the 16th.
Rusty.
