Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tubes over the next 16 days.
Alright, grab your board and listen up. It’s Rusty here, and we’ve got a wild 16-day ride ahead at Tubes. Let’s get into it.
The water is sitting at 64°F, which is a bit colder than normal for this time of year – you’ll feel that difference, so maybe a thicker rashie or a light spring suit won’t go astray.
It’s a slow start. Monday the 13th is a write-off – we’ve got a little 4ft SSW swell but the wind is on it and the conditions are just poor. Nothing to get excited about. Tuesday the 14th, though, things flip. Tuesday morning is glassy with a 5ft ESE swell, and that combined energy is sitting at 486 – moderate, but those clean conditions are a real treat. Tuesday afternoon drops off to a tiny 2ft SSW swell, so make the most of the morning.
Wednesday the 15th is small again, with a 1ft SW swell in the morning, but then Wednesday afternoon brings a clean 3ft SW swell with light offshore winds and combined energy hitting 487. It’s not huge, but it’s clean and fun for a smaller board. Thursday the 16th is where we start seeing some serious juice. Thursday morning delivers a glassy 10ft SW groundswell, with a period of 14 seconds and combined energy of 3186 – that’s strong energy. This is only for experienced surfers, but the quality is excellent. Thursday afternoon stays glassy with an 8ft SW swell – still excellent, still glassy.
Now, Friday the 17th: morning gets messy with a 22 mph cross-off wind and a 10ft SW swell – the wind is howling and it’s marginal. But Friday afternoon sees the wind swing offshore at 9 mph and that same 10ft SW swell becomes clean, with combined energy of 2190. That’s a standout session for the experienced crew.
Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th are mostly poor, with onshore winds and choppy conditions. Sunday afternoon does offer a moderate offshore wind and a 4ft SW swell, with combined energy of 680 – it’s clean but not a standout.
Then we look ahead. Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st are a mixed bag with onshore and cross-shore winds. Tuesday afternoon has a big 12ft SW swell with a 15-second period and combined energy of 5850, but it’s cross-on and choppy, so it’s only for the hardcore.
The real highlight, and I mean the big one, is Wednesday the 22nd. Wednesday morning at Tubes is glassy with an 12ft SW swell, 14-second period, and combined energy of 4864 – that’s strong, clean, and glassy. This is a day for experts only. Wednesday afternoon gets even bigger, with a 16ft SW swell and combined energy of 14462, but there’s a cross-shore wind, so it’s lumpy and only for the absolute best.
Thursday the 23rd keeps the big swell coming – 12ft SW in the morning, clean, then 12ft in the afternoon with offshore winds and clean conditions – both excellent for experts. Friday the 24th morning has a 15ft SW swell with cross-shore wind, but Friday afternoon glassies off with an 12ft SW swell and combined energy of 4597 – clean and excellent.
By Saturday the 25th, we’re back to a more manageable 5ft SW swell with offshore winds, good for intermediate surfers. Sunday the 26th is a washout with heavy rain and strong winds.
Overall, the standout days are Thursday the 16th and Wednesday the 22nd. Thursday the 16th is glassy, 10ft, and excellent. Wednesday the 22nd is glassy with a massive 12ft SSW swell that has crazy energy – it’s the pick of the whole period, but you better know what you’re doing.
Stay salty,
Rusty
