Table - best surf conditions forecast for Whispering Waves over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s coming up for Whispering Waves.
We’ve got a solid run of surf on the way, but you’ve gotta pick your moments. The standout is without a doubt Friday the 10th and Saturday morning the 11th, but there’s a few other gems hidden in the second week if you’re patient.
First up, Friday morning the 10th of July. Whispering Waves is gonna be pumping. We’re looking at a solid 10ft SSW groundswell, with a long 14-second period. That’s proper energy. The wind is light offshore from the SW, keeping it clean. The combined wave energy is massive at 3055 (strong to very strong), so this is only for experienced surfers. The water temp is about average for this time of year. This is the best on offer, no question.
Friday afternoon holds up well too – 8ft SSW, still offshore, still clean. Energy is still very strong at 2691. Still an expert-only wave.
Saturday morning the 11th sees the swell drop a touch to 8ft, but the wind switches to a light cross-onshore. It’s still a big wave, but it’s getting a little lumpy. The energy is still strong at 1713. This is your last chance for the big stuff before it fades.
From Saturday afternoon through Sunday, conditions go downhill fast. Onshore winds and rain, poor surf. There’s a real gap here – nothing worth paddling out for until Tuesday the 14th.
Tuesday the 14th of July morning brings a cleaner window. The swell is smaller at 6ft from the E, with an 8-second period, so it’s a bit weaker and more windswell. But the wind is offshore from the WSW, and energy is moderate at 552. It’s a fun, clean wave for intermediates.
Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th mornings are the real hidden gems. Light offshore wind, clean, with 6ft and 5ft E swell, 10-second period. Energy is moderate (682 and 766). These are the best clean, manageable waves of the second week. Crowds are possible here, so get in early.
The rest of the second week is a mixed bag – some clean windows, but the swell is inconsistent and on the smaller side. The 22nd of July afternoon has a late pulse of 4ft SSW with a moderate offshore, and the 23rd of July Thursday morning is glassy with a 4ft SSW swell, 11-second period, and energy of 621. That’s a nice, clean session for the patient surfer.
The very end of the window, the 25th of July Saturday morning, shows a big 7ft SSW groundswell with a 17-second period, energy of 2867, but the wind is onshore and poor. It’s a tease – a big swell with no quality.
Overall, the best call is Friday the 10th of July morning for the experts, and Wednesday the 15th or Thursday the 16th of July mornings for the intermediate crew looking for clean, fun waves.
Rusty.
