Alright, let’s get into it. The next couple of weeks are a bit of a mixed bag for Whacky Point, with a few standout windows that’ll get the pulse going, but plenty of flat or messy days to sift through.

Overall, we start off quiet and small. Then a nice pulse of longer-period SSW groundswell moves in mid-week, building into a solid, powerful weekend. That’s where the real juice is, but you need to pick your moments with the wind.

First up, Monday the 6th offers glassy, tiny SE windswell around 3 ft to 3 ft with a period of 10 seconds—surfable but weak, combined energy just 204. Nothing to get excited about. Tuesday the 7th and Wednesday the 8th stay small and get cross-off SW wind, but the size drops and it’s poor.

Thursday the 9th is where it kicks off. Morning has a 7 ft SSW swell at 13 seconds, offshore wind from the SW, and combined energy ramps to 1373—moderate to strong. The comment says excellent for experienced surfers, so this one is for the crew who know what they’re doing. The swell is over 5 ft, so beginners would struggle. Thursday afternoon sees bigger 8 ft but cross-off winds drop the quality a notch.

Friday the 10th morning is the real standout of the first week. A solid 10 ft SSW swell at 14 seconds, light offshore breeze from the SW, combined energy at 3255—strong to very strong wave energy. That’s big, powerful groundswell, period over 15 seconds? No, 14 seconds, but still long-period and will wrap into Whacky Point nicely as a point-and-beach setup. Experts only at this size. Afternoon stays big but gets cross-on wind from the east, so morning is the call.

Saturday the 11th is blown out with onshores from the NE at 19 mph, surf still 6–6 ft but messy. Skip it.

Sunday the 12th morning comes back clean with a cross-off NW breeze, 6 ft S swell but short period of 8 seconds, combined energy 885. Still very good surf conditions but the period is short, so it’ll be less powerful. Afternoon gets strong offshore SW wind at 25 mph—clean but hard to paddle into.

Monday the 13th morning: clean, cross-off WNW wind, 5 ft SSW swell at 14 seconds, combined energy 1275. Good shape and moderate power. A solid session for intermediate to advanced surfers.

Tuesday the 14th morning has offshore WSW wind, 5 ft SSE swell at 10 seconds, combined energy 736—clean and fun. Afternoon goes glassy light wind with 6 ft SSE swell at 11 seconds, energy 857. That’s a nice, clean afternoon wave.

Wednesday the 15th morning stays clean with offshore wind, but size drops to 3 ft, energy down to 317. Not worth rushing for.

Now we head into the second week. Thursday the 16th morning brings back a decent 8 ft SW swell at 9 seconds with offshore wind, energy 972—clean but short period. The standout in week two is Thursday the 16th afternoon: glassy conditions, light SSE wind, 7 ft SSW groundswell with a very long period of 15 seconds, combined energy 2178. That’s excellent, powerful, clean surf for experienced surfers. Long period groundswell like that can make beach breaks close out, but at a point/reef setup like Whacky Point, it’ll be lined up nicely. This is the best of the second week.

Friday the 17th gets cross-onshore wind from the north, smaller 5 ft, and Saturday the 18th improves with offshore SW wind and 4 ft SSW swell at 13 seconds—gentle offshore and clean, good conditions but not a standout.

Sunday the 19th onward fades into small onshore junk, under 3 ft and blown out. Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st are poor, with strong onshores and tiny swell under 2 ft.

So to sum up: the first highlight is Friday the 10th morning—big, powerful, clean SSW groundswell for experts. The second highlight is Thursday the 16th afternoon—glassy, very long-period SSW swell, clean and powerful. The rest is a mix of small clean days and blown-out slop. Crowds at Whacky Point can be a thing sometimes, so get in early on those standouts.

Keep an eye on the forecasts—things can change. But for now, those two windows are the ones to circle.
