Sollys Surf Guide

Sollys in Cape Peninsula is an exposed reef break that has consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. The best wind direction is from the southeast. Groundswells are more common than windswells and the best swell direction is from the southwest. Reef breaks provide lefts and rights. Best around high tide when the tide is rising. It's sometimes crowded here. Take care of rocks in the line up.

Red Baron from South Africa
“Solly's outer reef gets good when conditions are right. A right break that has a fairly easy take off at high tide. When the tide gets lower, there is a big suck on the reef that gets quite hairy on the take off.

Careful if you get caught on the inside as there are rocks and lots of kelp to keep you tangled for the next set.”
