Table - best surf conditions forecast for Olifants Bos over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s break this down. Olifants Bos is in for a ride over the next couple of weeks, but you’ve gotta pick your moments.
Right now, Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th are pumping with 8ft to 7ft of SSW swell, period around 13 seconds, but that offshore wind is ripping at 28 mph. It’s clean as a whistle but a huge paddle battle. The energy is heavy (2267), so only for the strong and experienced. By Sunday the 12th it drops to 4ft, wind eases to 19 mph cross-off, and it’s a better all-around size. Monday the 13th is small, clean but weak – maybe waist-high.
Then it goes quiet and messy from Tuesday the 14th until Wednesday the 23rd with a lot of onshore and cross-onshore wind. The one bright spot in that stretch is Thursday the 16th morning – clean 8ft SW swell with a light offshore breeze at 6 mph. Energy is strong (2076), and the conditions are described as excellent for experienced surfers. That’s your session.
The real firecracker is Saturday the 18th afternoon. The swell jumps to 13ft from the WSW, 14-second period, and the wind is a clean cross-off at 19 mph. Energy hits 6475 – that’s serious power. Expert-only. Then Sunday the 19th morning goes glassy with 10ft SW groundswell, 12-second period – a dream if you can handle it.
After that, from the 20th to the 22nd, it’s mostly blown out onshore, small to moderate, poor. Thursday the 23rd gets huge again – 11ft to 15ft – but cross-onshore wind ruins it.
Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th see absolutely massive swell – 28ft from the WSW on Friday, period 15-16 seconds, glassy in the morning. Energy is a staggering 31715. But the forecast says it’s too big for the break. Same for Saturday – 15ft SSW, 17-second period, glassy, but likely too much.
Your best calls: Thursday the 16th morning – clean 8ft from the SW with light offshore. And Sunday the 19th morning – glassy 10ft SW. Those are the ones.
Rusty out.
