Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let's see what's shaking. It's a slow start to the month, but there's one little window that's got some life in it for those who know the spot.
The only game in town is Deadman's. It's a point break that's rarely breaking, so you gotta be on it when the conditions line up. The swell is tiny across the whole run, so it's all about finding those clean moments. The water's around 66°, which is way warmer than you'd expect for this time of year.
The first few days are a total write-off. We're looking at ankle-biters around 2ft, with weak energy and crummy cross-onshore winds. Don't bother.
The real standout is Tuesday morning, July 7th and all of Wednesday, July 8th. Early on Tuesday, we've got a clean 3ft SSW groundswell with a long 18-second period. That's proper energy, and with a light offshore breeze, the place will be glassy and peeling. The combined energy hits a moderate 530 on Tuesday morning, which is the peak for the whole forecast. Wednesday is almost as good, same size and direction, with clean cross-off winds holding all day. For a spot that rarely fires, this is your window. Expect some company though, as crowds are often around.
After that, it turns ugly. From July 10th onward, the onshore winds arrive and the swell fades fast. There's a brief look on Sunday morning, July 12th, with a clean 3ft and good wind again, but the period is dropping and the afternoon gets blown out.
The rest of the run, from about July 13th through the 19th, is dire. The swell collapses to 1ft to 2ft, the energy is gutless (128-292), and the conditions are either ordinary or just plain poor. There's a very distant chance on Saturday, July 18th in the afternoon, when the wind turns light offshore from the NNW, with a 2ft SW swell. But the energy is still very weak (297), and it's two weeks out, so don't hold your breath.
Bottom line: your only true standout is that Tuesday and Wednesday around the 7th and 8th of July at Deadman's. Make the call.
Rusty.
