The Lowdown

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on offer for the next couple of weeks.

Well, I gotta be straight with you – it’s a tough outlook. The whole 16-day window is a flat spell for our shores. I’m looking at Sandspit, and it’s barely a whisper out there. The swell is tiny, mostly around 1ft to 1.5ft, and the direction is hanging out of the SW and SSW. The energy is weak, with values mostly in the double digits (63) and only occasionally climbing into the low triple digits, but even then, the wave comment is consistently "poor surf conditions." The period is long, sometimes hitting 15 or even 19 seconds, but with such a small wave, it’s just not doing anything.

The wind is mostly cross-on or onshore, which is a problem, even though it's light. For a break that rarely breaks and is sheltered from the west, this just isn't the setup. It’s a beach and breakwater that’s often crowded, but the crowds won't be an issue because there's nothing to ride. This is just a blank run for the area. We’ve got a solid 16 days of nothing to recommend. Don't hold your breath; the forecast can change, but for now, keep the boards in the bag.

Short Range Forecast

Mostly dry. Warm (max 27°C on Wed afternoon, min 21°C on Tue night). Wind will be generally light.

Days 4-6 Weather Summary
