Table - best surf conditions forecast for Crystals over the next 16 days.
Alright, grab a coffee, let's see what's doing over the next few weeks. Honestly, looking at the whole picture for Crystals, it's looking pretty grim for a solid paddle. The wave energy is just not there, and the wind windows are all over the shop. You might be better off sticking to the beach or the kite at this stage.
Starting off, the water is sitting at a very unusual 77°, about 6° warmer than normal for July. That's a real anomaly for Crystals.
Tuesday the 7th kicks things off with a tiny 3ft swell from the ENE, but it's weak in the combined energy, and we've got a cross-on wind. It's just choppy and messy—total write-off.
Wednesday the 8th sees a bit more juice, 4ft from the ENE, with the combined energy climbing a bit. But again, it's cross-onshore and wind-affected. Not worth the squeeze.
The rest of that first week and into the second is a slow bleed. Thursday the 9th drops to 2ft, cross-shore wind, and it's just not happening. Friday brings clean, cross-offshore winds, but the swell is gone, down to 1ft and 1.0ft. The energy is pathetic.
There's a little spike on Saturday the 11th, with a 4ft NE swell. The energy bumps up, which is moderate, but the wind is a fresh cross-shore from the north at 22 mph. It will be lumpy and horrible. Not a good look.
From Sunday the 12th onwards, it's a long, flat, and frustrating run. Swell sits under 3ft for the whole stretch. There are a few clean windows, like the glassy morning on Thursday the 16th (1.0ft), and a couple of glassy moments on Saturday the 18th (1ft). But it's so small you'd need a longboard and a lot of patience.
By the final week, there's a weird little 0.3ft groundswell from the SE on Sunday the 19th, with a 13-second period. That's a very long period for such a tiny wave, and it's completely flat. The energy is almost nothing. Monday the 20th is similarly flat with clean winds.
Bottom line, there are no true standouts in this 16-day window. The whole run is weak. If you absolutely have to get wet, the mornings of Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th offer glassy conditions, but you'll be scratching for anything rideable. The setup here looks more interesting for kite surfing with the strong cross-off winds than it does for conventional paddle surfing. Forecasts can change, but for now, it's a lean spell.
