Table - best surf conditions forecast for Nauset Light Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be real about this one. We’ve got a 16-day window ahead, but honestly, it’s a tough stretch for Nauset Light Beach. The whole period is a flat spell with barely a pulse. There are no real sessions to get excited about across the entire run. The first recommendation doesn’t show up until the very end of the first week, and even then, it’s not a winner.
Looking at the whole picture, the combined swell energy never gets above a weak 38 (on the 17th of July) and mostly sits in the single digits or low teens. That’s a lot of small, weak surf. The water temperature is sitting at 66°, which is about 0.4° above the long-term average – nothing unusual there, just your standard summer water.
The first faint glimmer comes on Friday, July 17th. The morning shows a tiny 3ft swell from the north, with a short period of 4 seconds. Wind is a moderate cross-shore from the NNW at 16 mph, which is messy. The afternoon barely improves. This is not a day to get wet.
Saturday the 18th is the closest thing we have to a "best on offer," and that’s saying something. The morning has a clean 2ft north swell with a gentle offshore wind from the west at 9 mph. The combined energy is still only 29. It’s small, it’s weak, but it’s clean. That’s the only positive here. Beginners might find something to mess around on, but it's not going to get anyone’s heart racing.
After that, it’s back to the same story: tiny, weak swells, mostly under 2ft. There is a period around the 24th of July with glassy conditions and a 1ft swell from the SE, but again, the energy is a pathetic 19. It’s clean, but there’s nothing to ride.
The rest of the second week is a flat, wind-affected mess. The swell is either non-existent or so small it’s not worth mentioning. The 21st of July even has a zero for combined energy. This is a blank run, and for a spot like this, it’s a pretty normal summer lull. The setup is a beach break, but with zero surf and some strong winds, it looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing.
Don’t hold your breath. Forecasts can change, but right now, this is a write-off.
