Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Hey, Rusty here again. Let’s break it down for Nauset Light Beach over the next couple weeks.
Truth is, it’s a real flat spell. We’re looking at a whole lot of nothing for most of this 16-day run. The swell is tiny and the wind is often messy. You’ll need to be patient.
We start off Saturday, 4 July, with a tiny 0.7ft swell from the ESE. It’s clean with a light cross-off breeze, but there’s barely any energy – just 8. Saturday afternoon goes glassy with the same 0.7ft, but you’re still barely moving. Sunday and Monday get a bit more easterly wind and chop, but no real size.
Tuesday, 7 July, sees some size pop up to 6ft from the ESE, but with heavy rain and onshore wind. The combined energy hits 625, so there’s power, but the conditions are ugly. Not a day for a good session. Wednesday and Thursday drop back to clean but tiny surf.
The one bright spot is Monday afternoon, 13 July. We’ve got a 3ft swell from the ESE, with an offshore breeze from the SW making it glassy. The combined energy is 120 (moderate). It’s not pumping, but it’s the cleanest, most rideable wave in the whole forecast. That’s your best bet.
After that, it’s back to tiny, clean surf through the rest of the period, with most waves under 2ft. Even that long period 13-second swell on Saturday the 18th only brings 0.3ft – not worth the paddle.
Water temp is about 67°, a touch warmer than usual, so the suit won’t be too heavy.
So here’s the word: if you want to get wet, aim for Monday afternoon, 13 July. Otherwise, it’s a long wait for better days.
Rusty, out.
