Table - best surf conditions forecast for Deveraux Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at Deveraux Beach.
To be straight with you, this outlook is pretty grim. There’s nothing on offer that I’d call a good surf session. The whole 16-day run is basically one long flat spell. You’re looking at a total blank; no standout days, no real swells to get excited about.
The best of a bad bunch is Wednesday morning, July 8th. We’ve got a small 4ft swell rolling in from the east, with a short period of 8 seconds. The combined energy is moderate, sitting at 191, so there’s a bit of push, but conditions are very ordinary. The wind is blowing cross-offshore from the northeast at 9 mph, which keeps the surface clean. The water temp is 68°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year. That’s about it for the positive side.
From Wednesday afternoon onward, it’s a rapid decline. The swell drops below 3ft, the wind turns onshore or cross-onshore, and the wave energy falls into the weak category, often below 100. We get days of virtually nothing. By July 11th, we’re looking at ankle-snappers at 0.7ft.
The second week doesn’t get any better. Most days show the swell barely reaching 3ft, with onshore winds and poor conditions. On July 20th, there’s a morning with glassy conditions and a 2ft swell, but the period is short (8 seconds) and the energy is weak (69). The wind turns onshore in the afternoon, chopping it up.
There’s really nothing here for paddle surfing. If you’re into kite surfing, those days with onshore winds and any bump at all might look more interesting.
Stay tuned, but don’t hold your breath. Forecasts can change.
