Alright, Rusty again. Same story, but in feet and miles per hour.
This 16-day outlook at Deveraux Beach is a tough one. The reef can be fairly consistent, but right now we’re looking at a long run of flat or messy conditions. One little window mid-week might give you a paddle, but don’t count on much.
Water temp on July 5th is about 65°F – normal for the season. The surf? Sunday afternoon (July 5th) is a tiny 0.7 ft from the ESE, period 8 seconds, with a 12 mph cross-onshore wind from the SE. Choppy and weak.
Monday (July 6th) stays small – 2 ft or less – with the same cross-onshore flow. Tuesday (July 7th) bumps up to 6–6 ft from the ESE/E, and combined energy hits 233–376, but the wind is 19–22 mph cross-offshore from the ENE. Looks clean from shore, but the period is only 6–7 seconds – short-period wind swell. Not proper surf.
The only chance you’ve got: Wednesday morning, July 8th. Waves around 4 ft from the east, period 8 seconds, combined energy 191 – moderate. Wind is a glassy 3 mph from the ENE, cross-offshore, making it clean. But it’s still just surfable, very ordinary. Nothing to shout about.
After that, it’s all small and messy. From Thursday July 9th through July 20th, wave heights range from 0.7 ft to 3 ft, periods mostly under 8 seconds, with cross-onshore or onshore winds. Energy readings drop to the teens and twenties. A couple of clean moments on the 10th and 11th, but the swell is only 0.7–1 ft. Not worth it.
The entire second week is flat and choppy. For a break that’s normally fairly consistent, this is a blank run. That Wednesday morning is your only real option, but keep expectations low. Forecasts can change, so keep an eye on it.
Take it easy,
Rusty
