Table - best surf conditions forecast for Lecount Hollow over the next 16 days.
Yo, Rusty here. Let’s talk about what’s happening at Lecount Hollow for the next couple of weeks. Straight up, this run is a bit of a bummer for anyone looking to get their paddling fix. The forecast is a long, dry stretch of tiny surf and not much to get excited about. We’re looking at a solid 16-day window where the waves are just… not happening. The first few days are a total write-off, with nothing but ankle-biters and poor conditions. The water temp is sitting around 67°, which is about average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
From Monday the 13th through Wednesday the 15th, it’s flat and messy. We’re talking 0.7ft to 1ft of swell with short periods, wind all over the place, and the combined energy is barely a whisper (13 to 18). Wednesday morning offers a brief window of offshore wind and clean conditions, but the swell is still tiny. Wednesday afternoon goes glassy, but the waves are just not there. Thursday and Friday the 16th and 17th are more of the same – 0.3ft to 1ft, clean but hopeless. The combined energy drops to single digits (3 to 10). It’s a real desert.
The weekend of the 18th and 19th doesn’t get much better. Saturday has a bit of a bump to 1ft, but Sunday morning actually sees a pulse of 4ft from the south with a 6-second period and a moderate energy reading of 171. That’s the biggest swell of the whole outlook, but the period is short, so it’s not going to offer much shape. The wind is cross-off in the morning, then turns cross with rain in the afternoon. It’s still marked as “poor surf conditions,” so don’t get your hopes up.
The rest of the second week is a repeat of the first. From Monday the 20th all the way through to Tuesday the 28th, the swell stays tiny, between 0.7ft and 3ft, with mostly onshore or cross-shore winds. The combined energy is mostly weak (5 to 125), with a few moderate spikes, but nothing that would make you want to rush out. The only thing that stands out is the total lack of a standout. If you’re a kite surfer, the windier days might offer something, but for a paddle surfer, this is a hard pass.
The whole 16-day stretch is a flat spell. No real options, no standout days. The best bet is to wait for a new forecast, because this one’s a dud.
Rusty.
