Table - best surf conditions forecast for Wooden Jetties over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Gotta be straight with you right off the bat – looking at this 16-day stretch for the Wooden Jetties, it’s a tough one. There’s just nothing to get excited about. This is one of those classic blank runs where the forecast is giving us a big fat zero for quality surf, and that’s honestly pretty normal for this area when the conditions don't line up. It’s a bit of a grind, but that’s how it goes sometimes – the ocean keeps us humble.
The first week is basically a write-off. Starting Sunday, July 12th, we’ve got tiny, weak swell at 3 ft from the east with a super short period of 5 seconds, and the wind is howling onshore. The combined wave energy is next to nothing (41), and the onshore breeze is making a mess of things. This same poor theme runs right through, with small swell, wrong winds, and choppy conditions. A bit of a tease comes on Tuesday, July 14th morning when the wind goes light and cross-offshore, but the swell is barely 1 ft – not enough to push a leaf, let alone a surfboard.
There is a tiny moment on Thursday, July 16th morning that almost breaks a heart. The wind goes completely glassy (0 mph) and we see a little 0.9 ft SE swell. It would be clean, but there’s just no power. The combined energy is a pitiful 21. Even the afternoon of the 16th with gentle offshore wind from the NW can’t save it – the swell is too small.
The second week doesn't offer any relief. It’s more of the same: small, weak swells, mostly onshore or strong cross-shore winds. The energy levels stay in the dumps, usually below 100. The only event that even registers on the energy scale is the morning of Sunday, July 27th. We see the biggest swell of the outlook at 6 ft from the south, and the combined energy jumps to 446, which is moderate. But here’s the killer: the wind is a cross-onshore from the east at 12 mph, making it a choppy mess. For a beach/jetty setup like this, it’s more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer. That’s all she wrote.
No standouts here, folks. It’s one to sit out, watch the charts, and hope the next run gets its act together.
