Table - best surf conditions forecast for St Andrews State Park over the next 16 days.
Hey, Rusty here again. Let’s talk the same stretch, but in feet and Fahrenheit for the imperial crew.
This 16-day look for St Andrews State Park is a rough one. We’re looking at a long, dry spell of bumpy, knee-high junk. The first real chance to get wet doesn’t come until Sunday, July 19th. Before that, from today through Saturday the 18th, the wind is mostly cross-onshore or straight onshore, the swell is tiny (2 ft to 5 ft) and has no period to speak of. The combined energy is all in the weak range (19 to 91). It’s all poor conditions – leave the board in the car.
Come Sunday the 19th, there’s a small glimmer. The morning at St Andrews State Park turns glassy – flat calm wind. That’s a big plus. We’ve got a 3 ft swell from the WSW, but the period is only 5 seconds, so it’s disorganized windswell, not real groundswell. The water temp is 87°F, about a degree and a half warmer than usual for this time of year. The combined energy is weak at 49. It’s small and weak, but that glass makes it rideable for a beginner or a longboarder. Crowds are just *sometimes*, so you might have some room.
Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st are a wash – more storms, bumpy winds, and the swell drops right off to 2 ft to 3 ft. Weak, messy.
The last few days of the window, from Thursday the 24th onward, show a few clean windows with light cross-offshore breezes. Thursday morning and afternoon (24th) have 3 ft from the WSW with clean conditions. Saturday morning the 25th and Monday morning the 27th also look clean, but the swell is just 2 ft and 2 ft, with periods of 4 seconds and combined energy of 14 and 8. That’s tiny, gutless surf. It’s paddle-board flatness.
The only real standout is Sunday the 19th morning – it’s the sole day with glassy wind and enough swell to push a log. It’s not a classic, but it’s the only game in town. Otherwise, this is a long quiet stretch. Forecasts can flip, so keep an eye out.
Rusty, out.
