The Lowdown
Alright, this is Rusty. Let's be straight with you.
Look, I’ve been staring at the charts for FA's, and I gotta tell you, it’s a pretty grim run for the next 16 days. We’re looking at a long stretch of tiny, messy waves. The good news is that there are a few windows where the wind drops out and the ocean goes glassy, but don’t expect anything with real push.
The water temp is sitting about average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
The first real chance to get wet without wasting your time comes on the morning of Friday, July 24th. We’ve got a clean 3 ft swell from the ESE, cross-off winds from the SSW at 6 mph, and the combined energy is a weak 78. It’s surfable, but barely. The afternoon looks like a washout with a storm risk and onshore winds.
Then there’s a gap. Sunday, July 26th morning is the next one to pencil in. The swell is still small at 3 ft from the ESE, but the wind is glassy – dead calm with a slight air. That’s the best you’ll see all week. The combined energy is only 77, so don't expect to get tubed, but it’ll be clean.
The best of the whole outlook, and I mean the only real standout, is the Monday morning of July 27th. The swell picks up to 4 ft from the SSE, and the wind is completely calm – zero. The combined energy hits 116, which is moderate. It’s a glassy, clean morning and the best chance for a fun little session. However, the swell is coming from the SSE, which isn't the optimum direction for this break, so it won't be perfect. But with conditions like that, you take what you can get.
The morning of Tuesday, July 28th is also worth a mention, with a glassy 4 ft from the S (combined energy 97), but it’s a bit more of a gamble.
Overall, there’s nothing big, nothing powerful. The few clean mornings are your only real play. For the rest of the time, it’s onshore chop and tiny waves. Not much for the paddle surfers, to be honest.
