The Lowdown
Alright, let’s talk FA's. The surf situation is pretty bleak for the next 16 days. The first real chance to get wet isn’t until Thursday morning, 28 August, and even then it’s nothing to write home about.
Water temp is 85°F, about normal for the season.
Thursday morning, 28 August: a tiny pulse of 2-foot swell from the ESE, with a 9-second period. Combined energy is only 67 (weak). The wind goes glassy, which is a big plus. The break is a mix of beach and reef, beginner-friendly, and fairly consistent. The swell direction is off from the ideal SSE, so it’s not lining up perfectly. Crowds are often, so you’ll have company. It’s surfable, but just barely.
Nothing stands out as a true highlight. The whole 16-day window is dominated by small, weak swells and onshore winds. The best you’ll get is that glassy morning on the 28th.
Further out, on Thursday morning, 3 September, there’s a 4-foot swell from the NE with a short 6-second period. Combined energy is 151 (moderate). The wind is cross-shore, and with the beach and reef setup, it’s looking more like a kite-surfing day than a clean paddle session. Not for beginners.
The rest of the forecast is flat and weak, with no real hope for decent waves. It’s a long stretch of poor conditions.
Rusty.
