Table - best surf conditions forecast for FA's over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s break it down for FA's in imperial. It’s a dry spell, no two ways about it.
The whole pattern is flat and weak. Swell is coming from the ESE or SE, with real short periods – 4 to 8 seconds – just windswell, no power behind it. The combined wave energy is weak, sitting in the 13 to 56 range, never even hitting moderate. Water temp is 84°F, which is about normal for the season.
We start Sunday, July 12th. The morning has a clean 2 ft wave from the ESE with a light offshore, but it’s tiny and weak – “poor surf conditions” sums it up. Monday the 13th afternoon gives us the best of the whole run: 2 ft from the SE, clean offshore, with a “surfable waves but very ordinary conditions” tag. That’s the high point, and it’s not high.
From Tuesday the 14th through the 19th, it’s a dead zone. Waves range from 1.0 ft to 2 ft, periods drop to 6 or 8 seconds, and while there’s a glassy morning on the 15th and a clean breeze on the 18th, the swell is too small to matter. Crowds are likely at FA's, but there’s nothing to fight for.
Second week is more of the same – small, choppy, and weak. Monday the 20th has a glassy 2 ft with a 4-second period, basically a ripple. Thursday the 23rd shows 3 ft from the ESE, but it’s cross-onshore and short-period, so expect a bumpy closeout. The 24th and 25th are tiny and onshore again.
Best bet? Monday afternoon, July 13th. That 2 ft from the SE with a clean offshore is the only window with a real chance for a fun little wave. It’s for beginners, really – the energy is just too low (71) for anything else.
There’s a long gap of nothing after that. No big swell, no good direction, winds turning messy. It’s a quiet, flat run. Forecasts can shift, but right now, it’s a waiting game.
