Table - best surf conditions forecast for Daytona Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here, and I gotta be straight with you – it's gonna be a quiet stretch for Daytona Beach. We're looking at a long spell of tiny, weak surf, so don't get your hopes up for anything epic.
The first bit of action we see isn't really action at all. Friday morning the 10th, you might find a knee-high wave at 2 ft from the east, but the energy is barely there (40). Water temp is 84°, right where it should be for this time of year. Honestly, it's surfable but very ordinary. From then on, it's a real dry spell. Days go by with nothing but flat, glassy mornings and onshore wrecked afternoons. It's not until late in the run that things even start to look a little interesting.
The only time the swell energy even cracks a hundred (103) is on Saturday morning the 25th, with a 3 ft wave from the southeast. That's still very small though, and that southeast wind will be blowing onshore, making it junky. The following afternoon, the wind picks up to 25 km/h, so it's a write-off.
Now, there's a tiny window on Wednesday afternoon the 22nd. The swell bumps up to 2 ft from the east-southeast, but the real story here is the wind. We get a clean, light offshore from the south-southwest. That's the kind of wind that polishes the surface. The energy is still low (70), but for a longboard or a foiler, you might get some clean little runners.
For the standout, if you can call it that, it’s that Wednesday afternoon the 22nd. Daytona Beach (sandbar) with that 2 ft swell from the east-southeast and light offshore wind. It’s the closest thing to clean and surfable we get. Crowds can be around sometimes, but with surf this small, most people won't bother. It’s a beginner-friendly wave, but even then, it's not gonna be great.
The rest of the run into the second week shows more of the same: tiny waves, mostly from the east with weak period. Those offshore winds on the 19th and 20th will make the water look nice, but there's nothing underneath to ride.
So, the honest truth? There are no solid options in this 16-day window. It's a blank run, and for this area, that's not all that unusual. Keep the board in the car, check the forecast again in a few days – it can't stay this flat forever.
Rusty.
