Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jetty Park over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's be straight with you – this stretch is looking pretty flat. The only break on the radar is Jetty Park, and honestly, it's a tough one to call a "surf" outlook.
Right from the start, we're looking at a long, dry spell. For the entire 16-day window, we're talking about tiny, inconsistent waves. The swell energy is weak, with values barely scraping into double digits most days – we're seeing numbers like 12, 38, and 42 at the higher end, which is barely a ripple. It's a classic case of the wait being the main event.
Jetty Park is a beach/jetty setup that's inconsistent at best, and it's a beginner-friendly spot. Over the next few days, the swell is tiny, coming in from the ESE at 1 ft to 2 ft with a short period of 8 seconds. The water temp is about average for the time of year, nothing wild.
The only time we get a bit of a break from the doldrums is on Tuesday morning, July 14th. The wind goes glassy from the W at 3 mph, which is a major positive – it'll be clean as a whistle. But with a wave height of just 1 ft and weak energy (15), it's a session for a longboard or a floatie, not a proper surf. The same goes for Wednesday morning, July 15th, with a dead calm and glassy conditions, but again, only 1 ft of swell.
The best of the worst comes on Saturday afternoon, July 25th, when the swell bumps up to 2 ft from the ESE, with the combined energy hitting 50. It's still a weak, short-period swell, and the wind is a cross-onshore at 15 mph, making it choppy. Not exactly a day to call in sick for.
For the rest of the period, it's a mix of tiny surf and poor wind. The period from around July 20th to the 27th is a real snoozer, with heights dropping to 0.6 ft. There's no standout, no real option. The setup is so weak that it's more interesting for a paddle than a wave.
Honestly, if you're looking to surf, keep your eyes on the long-range forecasts. It tends not to stay this poor for long, but for now, the board is staying in the car.
Rusty.
