Alright, grab a coffee and listen up. It’s Rusty here, and I’ve gotta be straight with you – this next stretch is about as flat as a pancake. We’re looking at a long, boring run for Jax Beach Pier.
The whole 16-day window is a dust bowl. Monday the 6th kicks off with a tiny 1ft swell from the ESE and a 13 energy rating (weak), and honestly, it doesn't get much better. The pattern is just day after day of ankle-biters. The biggest pulse we see is a measly 4ft on the afternoon of Wednesday the 8th and again on Friday the 10th, but that’s coming from the SE with a crap 4-second period – that’s windswill, not surf. The combined energy on that Friday arvo is only 53, still weak.
From Monday the 6th all the way through to Tuesday the 21st, there is not a single standout session. Most days you’ll see 0.7ft to 1ft, with that ESE windswell. The only time we see a "surfable" rating is on the morning of Sunday the 12th, with 2ft. That morning has a light offshore from the W keeping it clean, but the energy is still weak at 43. It’s barely a knee-high dribble.
Everything else is “poor surf conditions.” Periods are mostly 8 or 9 seconds, so there’s no punch. There is no groundswell on the cards. For a break that is *very consistent*, a blank run like this is a bit of a surprise, but forecasts can change. Right now, it’s hardly worth getting the wax out.
Forget about paddle surfing – with these tiny, weak waves and strong side-shore breezes kicking up a chop on the afternoons, this setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than anything else.
You'll have to keep an eye on it, but for now, save your energy.
