Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what Jax Beach has cookin’ for us.
Honestly, the next couple of weeks are pretty flat and bleak. We’re lookin’ at a long stretch of tiny, weak surf that really only starts to show a tiny pulse around Sunday the 12th of July. Before that, it’s a whole lot of nothing for over a week. The water temp is sitting at a warm 85°F with an anomaly of 2°F, so it’s a touch warmer than usual for this time of year.
The Only Glimmer on the Horizon
The only time we get anything that resembles a wave is on Sunday morning, July 12th, at Jax Beach Pier. The swell will be tiny at about 2ft from the ESE with a short period of 8 seconds, giving a combined swell energy of just 62 – that’s weak, no two ways about it. The morning looks clean with light offshore winds from the W, which is a big plus. It’s listed as surfable but very ordinary. This is a beginner-friendly wave at a very consistent spot, but you have to expect crowds here as they are often around.
That’s it. One small window. The rest of the 16 days are plagued by poor surf conditions, mostly cross-shore or onshore breezes, and wave heights staying below 2ft. The energy readings are all in the double digits, mostly below 40, which tells you all you need to know. There’s a big dry spell from now until that Sunday morning, so don’t get your hopes up. Even after the 12th, it fades right back out.
Keep an eye on the forecasts though. A blank run like this tends not to last forever in this area.
Rusty.
