Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jax Beach Pier over the next 16 days.
Alright crew, Rusty here to break down the next couple of weeks at Jax Beach Pier. I’m gonna be honest – this is going to be a grind. You’re gonna have to be patient for the one small window that’s worth paddling out.
We kick off Wednesday, July 8th, and run through to Tuesday morning, July 14th with basically nothing good. It’s a long stretch of small, weak surf. You’ll see clean mornings with light offshore winds, but the swell is tiny – 0.3m to 0.6m from the ESE and energy readings are pathetic (17 to 42). Water temp is about what you’d expect for this time of year. The first week is mostly just waiting and watching.
The first real chance shows up on Tuesday, July 14th. Tuesday morning we get a NE swell pushing in at 5ft, but it’s short-period at 6 seconds. The combined energy hits 147, which is at least moderate. The morning is glassy, which will keep it clean, but it’ll still be very ordinary. Tuesday afternoon drops to 3ft from the NE, but we get a solid offshore wind from the SSW at 20 km/h, cleaning it right up. It’s surfable, but don’t expect gems.
The one standout in this whole 16-day period is that Tuesday morning, July 14th. It’s the biggest wave we’ll see. If you’re an expert looking for a clean, glassy session with waist-to-chest high lumps, that’s your moment. Beginners might find the 5ft a little heavy for a beach break, especially with that short period. After that, it fades. By Wednesday, July 15th, we’re back to 2ft, and it’s a downhill slide from there.
From Sunday, July 20th, it goes completely flat for days – zero swell, just offshore winds and empty water. A tiny 0.3ft groundswell from the East shows up on Wednesday, July 22nd with an 11-second period, but it’s barely a ripple. So yeah, it’s a dry spell. But forecasts can change, so don’t write it off completely. This is Rusty, out.
