Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jax Beach Pier over the next 16 days.
Alright, folks, Rusty here. Gotta be straight with you – it’s a tough stretch ahead for the First Coast. Let’s get into it.
We’re looking at a long, quiet spell at Jax Beach Pier. The water is sitting at 85°, which is right around the norm for this time of year, so no surprises there.
The whole 16-day window is basically a write-off for decent waves. From Wednesday, July 8th, right through to the end of the period, we’re stuck with tiny, weak conditions. The swell energy is a measly 25 (weak) to maybe 60 (still weak) at best, coming mostly from the ESE with a short period of 8 to 9 seconds. That’s just not enough to get anything going. For the first week, it’s a lot of 1ft slop, and even when we get a glassy morning or a light offshore breeze, the swell is just too small to make it worthwhile.
Honestly, there’s no standout session here. The only time the forecast even calls it “surfable” is on Wednesday morning, July 15th, with a tiny 1ft swell and glassy conditions, but even then the energy is weak and the waves will be small and weak. The following morning, Thursday, July 16th, has a similar 2ft swell with a cross-offshore wind, but it's still a shadow of what you’d want.
The whole second half of the outlook is the same story: flat, with the occasional 0.3ft to 1ft bump that’s not worth paddling out for. With such tiny, weak swell and a consistent cross-shore wind pattern, this setup honestly looks more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer, just to get some use out of the wind.
Bottom line: leave the board in the car. The surf is poor for the entire 16 days. There’s no highlight to chase. It’s a total bust.
Rusty.
