Table - best surf conditions forecast for Jax Beach Pier over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's talk about what's happening at Jax Beach Pier.
Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you – this is a tough stretch for surf. The energy just isn't there. For the next week and a half, through to Saturday the 18th, it's looking pretty grim. We're talking days of tiny, weak surf with the combined swell energy barely getting into double digits, mostly sitting between 2 and 70. That’s weak stuff. The water is a warm 85.5°, feeling a touch warmer than normal for this time of year.
Looking at the first real glimmer of hope, Saturday the 18th is the first time anything shows up. The afternoon sees a small bump from the SE at 3ft, but the period is a short 6 seconds, so it'll be soft and crumbly. The wind is light and cross-offshore, keeping it clean, and the combined energy finally climbs to 70. It's not much, but it's the first surfable wave we've seen.
Then we hit the standout. On Sunday the 19th, the morning looks best. The swell holds at 1.3ft from the ESE with a 7-second period, and we get a nice, clean, gentle offshore wind from the SW. The combined energy is still low at 21, but that offshore wind will make what's there smooth and rideable. It's tiny, but clean. This is probably the best you'll see over this whole outlook.
After that, we go into a lull again. Monday the 20th has zero swell. Tuesday the 21st does show a bit of potential in the morning, with 2.6ft from the ESE and an 8-second period, and a cross-offshore breeze giving clean conditions. The combined energy hits 72, the highest all period. It's still very small, but it's something to look forward to. By the end of the window, Wednesday the 22nd, it's back to messy cross-onshore conditions and weak, short-period chop.
Basically, don't get your hopes up for any pumping waves. This is a waiting game. If you're desperate for a paddle, Sunday the 19th morning is your cleanest, most surfable window, but bring a log. The lack of consistent swell here is pretty normal, but it won't stay this flat forever.
