Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tramandai Pier (Platforma) over the next 16 days.
Alright, let's switch to feet and degrees for the Americans. Rusty here, with the full run-down on Tramandai Pier.
We got a bit of a slow burn, but a solid run of waves coming. The first decent call is Monday morning, July 13th, at Tramandai Pier (Platforma). It’s not going to blow your mind, but the wind is offshore from the west, keeping the surface clean. We’re looking at a 4ft swell from the SSE with a short 8-second period, and the energy is weak at 265. The water is a bone-chilling 56.5°, which is a massive 5.6° colder than normal, so you’ll be in a 5/4 for sure. The afternoon gets a little better, with the swell bumping to 4.3ft and a 9-second period, cleaner energy (330), and a nice cross-offshore breeze. Surfable, but it’s a starter wave.
Tuesday, July 14th, is a write-off. The swell hits 5.6ft from the ESE, but the wind is a messy cross-shore from the NE that’s going to turn it into a washing machine. The energy is moderate (517), but the quality is poor. Forget it.
Wednesday, July 15th, offers a small reprieve in the morning. The swell drops to 3.3ft from the ESE, but the wind is light and cross-offshore, so it’s clean. The energy is moderate (358). It’s a small, clean wave for the log or a fun shape. The afternoon turns to junk with a cross-onshore breeze.
Thursday, July 16th, is far too small and weak (2.6-3ft, energy 134-152) with bad winds. Not worth paddling out.
Friday, July 17th, gets interesting. The swell jumps up to 6.6ft from the ENE on a short 8-second period, with moderate energy (633). The wind is light and cross-shore, so it’s not a total mess, but it’s a bit lumpy. This is getting into the "too big for beginners" zone, and the short period will make it dumpy. The afternoon gets bigger at 7.2ft and more energy (817), but the wind goes cross-onshore, making it choppy. Marginal.
Saturday, July 18th, is more of the same: 6.9ft ENE swell, light cross-shore winds, moderate energy (740). Okay, but not clean. Sunday, July 19th, the winds finally go good again, with a cross-offshore breeze in the morning and a glassy afternoon with a light westerly. The swell drops to 4.9-5.6ft from the ENE, energy around 337-453. The afternoon session on Sunday is the best call of that first week: clean, manageable waves.
Monday, July 20th, is a total dud in the morning (0.7ft) and a messy, short-period 6.9ft ENE swell in the afternoon. Skip it.
Now, pay attention. Tuesday, July 21st is a standout. The morning is glassy with a 6.2ft swell from the S, a long 11-second period, and a massive combined energy of 1848. This is excellent surf for experienced surfers. The long period will make it a bit walled-up at the beach break, but it’s got power. The afternoon is still good with a cross-offshore breeze, but the glassy morning is the real deal.
The next few days are mixed. Wednesday, July 22nd, gets messy with onshore winds. Thursday, July 23rd, is bumpy with cross-shore winds and a 6.2ft ENE swell (energy 679). Friday, July 24th, is small and marginal.
Then, Saturday, July 25th, we get another gem. The morning is glassy, with a 5.2ft swell from the S (10-second period, energy 578). This is a very good, clean session. The water is still cold, but the conditions are perfect.
And then the big one. Sunday, July 26th. The morning is absolutely insane. The wind is dead calm, glassy, with an 8.2ft swell from the SSE at a very long 14-second period. The combined energy is a monstrous 2729 – that’s very strong. This is expert-only territory. The long period means it will be huge, powerful, and straight at the beach break; it’s a point break or reef dream. The afternoon is also epic: 8.2ft, 13-second period, energy 2166, and a strong offshore wind from the NW. It’s clean,
