Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, Rusty here, let’s run through the next couple of weeks in feet and miles per hour.
It’s a lean stretch for Torrance Beach/Burn Out. No real surf to get stoked on until Thursday the 9th of July. Water temp is 68°F right now, which is about 4°F warmer than average for this time of year – feels like a warm bath.
Monday and Tuesday are a bust with messy onshore winds. Wednesday the 8th of July morning has a small 3ft swell from the SSW with 16-second period groundswell, but the cross-onshore wind and weak energy (513) won’t give you much.
Thursday the 9th of July morning is the pick of the bunch. A clean 3ft SSW swell with that long 16-second period, light cross-offshore winds, and moderate combined energy of 370. It’s small, but glassy and fun for a longboard or a fish. Friday afternoon the 10th also looks clean with 2ft SSW swell and light offshore breeze – another decent little window.
After that, it drops right off. From Sunday the 12th of July through to the end of the forecast, the surf stays tiny and mostly poor. Most days show under 2ft, with onshore winds and low energy. Wednesday morning the 15th of July has glassy conditions with a 1ft SW swell at 18 seconds, but it’s barely surfable. The rest is a flat spell.
The standout is Thursday the 9th of July morning at Torrance Beach/Burn Out. Small and clean – that’s your best bet. Friday afternoon as a backup. Otherwise, it’s a waiting game.
Rusty, out.
