Table - best surf conditions forecast for Torrance Beach/Burn Out over the next 16 days.

Alright, folks, Rusty here. Let’s look at what’s cooking for the next couple of weeks. We’ve only got one spot on the radar for this whole stretch, and to be honest, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. The water is sitting at about 69°, which is a solid 4° warmer than normal for this time of year – that’s a real treat and you’ll be feeling it.

The first real chance to get wet kicks off this Saturday morning, July 11th. We’re looking at small, clean 2ft swell out of the SSW, with a long 15-second period pushing that energy in. The wind is light and cross-offshore from the SSE, so that’s the ticket for a glassy surface. The combined energy is moderate at 202, so while it won't be a big day, the conditions are there for a fun, cruisy session. This is your standout window early on.

After that Saturday morning, things get pretty ordinary. We hit a long, dry spell. From Saturday afternoon all the way through to late next week, the winds get messy, swinging onshore or cross, and the surf quality drops off a cliff. The swell stays tiny, often under 2ft, and the winds just won’t cooperate. For the best part of nine days, there’s nothing I’d recommend paddling out for.

Now, looking further ahead, there’s a glimmer of hope. On Tuesday morning, July 21st, we’ve got another chance. The swell picks up slightly to 2ft from the SW, period at 16 seconds, and the combined energy jumps to a moderate 268. More importantly, we get light, cross-off winds from the SSE again, promising clean conditions. That morning session looks like a genuine option, but remember, it’s a long-range call, so keep your fingers crossed.

The following Wednesday morning, July 22nd, also shows a similar pattern – clean, cross-off winds with 2ft, 15-second SSW swell (202 energy). It’s a double-hitter, but after that, the forecast goes pretty flat and windy again through to the 26th, with onshore winds wrecking any potential.

So, the short story? Get out there this Saturday morning, July 11th, at Torrance Beach/Burn Out. It’s not big, but for a beginner-friendly spot, it’ll be clean and fun. Then you’ve got a long wait until Tuesday the 21st for the next real look. Everything in between is mostly a write-off.

Rusty.
