Table - best surf conditions forecast for The Wall over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s call it like it is: the next 16 days at The Wall are lean. The swell is tiny, and the wind is all over the place. There’s just one little spike of energy mid-month, but it’s not clean.
This Friday morning, the 10th, we’ve got a 2ft swell from the ESE, 8-second period, and a light NW cross-offshore breeze. The combined energy is weak (66). It’s clean, but it’s ankle-high. Water temp is 65°, right on the average for this time of year.
That’s about it. Friday afternoon turns onshore, and by Saturday the 11th, the swell drops to 1ft from the east with onshore wind. From the 11th through the 19th, it’s a saga of tiny surf—0.3ft to 2ft—with mostly onshore or cross-onshore winds. The combined energy is barely a blip, usually in the teens.
Then on Monday the 20th, the swell jumps to 6ft in the morning, then 7ft in the afternoon, both from the east with a short period of 6-7 seconds. The combined energy hits 383 on Monday afternoon—that’s solid moderate energy. But the wind is onshore, and the forecast says “poor surf conditions.” That 7ft, short-period, onshore slop is for experts only, and even then, it’s going to be a close-out freight train. That setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing.
The rest of the week, from the 21st to the 25th, the swell drops back to 2-4ft, and the winds stay mostly cross-onshore. The combined energy fades from 250 down to 37. Nothing to write home about.
So, the honest truth: there’s no standout session here. The 20th has the size, but it’s a wind-blown mess. Your best bet is the clean, tiny surf on the 10th morning if you just want to get wet. A long, flat run like this is more normal for the area, but forecasts can change.
Rusty.
