Table - best surf conditions forecast for The Wall over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Gotta be straight with you – the outlook for our local stretch is a bit of a flat spell. We’re looking at a long run of days with barely a ripple, so temper those expectations.
The water is sitting at 67°F which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least a dip won’t be a shock to the system.
Kicking off this Sunday the 12th, The Wall is showing tiny 1ft swells from the SE. The energy is weak (25), and with a light onshore breeze in the morning, it’s not going to be worth paddling out for. The poor surf conditions are a running theme here.
Monday the 13th sees a slight bump in the afternoon, with swell hitting 5ft from the SSE, but the period is a shocking 5 seconds – that’s pure wind chop with no shape. The energy is still low (88), and the cross-shore wind will make it a messy, bumpy affair. Hard pass.
Tuesday the 14th through to Saturday the 18th is a real dead zone. We’re talking tiny 0.3ft to 1ft waves with weak energy readings (mostly under 30). Even when the wind goes offshore or glassy, there’s simply no swell to work with. You’d be floating more than surfing.
Sunday the 19th offers a glimmer of hope with glassy conditions in the morning, but the swell is still a pathetic 1ft with a 7-second period. The afternoon gets a bit of a bump to 3ft, but the period drops to 4 seconds – that’s just lumpy water. The combined energy is only 31. Not worth the drive.
Now, looking ahead to Monday the 20th, we finally see some real energy. The afternoon brings a 7ft swell from the SSE, clocking in with a strong energy reading of 324. But here’s the catch: the period is a short 6 seconds, and the wind is a moderate cross-onshore, making it choppy. That size is pushing into expert-only territory at a beach break, and with that wind, it’s gonna be a messy, difficult session. Honestly, with that setup, this is looking more interesting for kite surfers than paddle surfers.
The energy drops back down through the rest of the week. Tuesday the 21st has a 5ft swell in the afternoon, but the period is still short (6 seconds) and the cross-shore wind will keep things choppy.
For the rest of the run, right through to Monday the 27th, we’re back to the same old story: tiny swells, weak energy, and onshore winds. There’s no standout session in this entire 16-day window. The only real pulse of size is that Monday the 20th, and it’s let down by the wind and short period. We’ll have to keep an eye on the next chart.
Rusty.
