Table - best surf conditions forecast for The Jetty over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s break it down.
Honestly, it’s a pretty grim run. We’re looking at a solid 16-day stretch where the surf just doesn’t want to cooperate. The Jetty is the only spot in the game, and it’s a sandbar setup that’s fairly consistent, but the conditions are just not playing ball. The water is sitting at 77°F right now, which is a whopping 6°F warmer than normal for this time of year – that’s very unusual, feels like bathwater.
The only real chance of anything even slightly rideable doesn’t show up until Thursday the 16th of July. The morning there is a tiny 3ft swell from the south, period a short 6 seconds, and the wind is glassy – dead calm. It’s the only time in the whole run where the conditions are described as “surfable waves but very ordinary conditions.” It’s a 3ft south swell, so it’s small, but with the glassy surface, it’ll be clean. For a beginner-friendly sandbar, that’s your one and only window. The rest of the 16 days are a write-off.
After that Thursday the 16th morning window, it’s back to nothing. There are a few glassy mornings on the 18th and 19th of July, but the swell is so small – 1ft to 2ft – that it’s barely a ripple. The combined energy drops as low as 13 on the 18th morning. That’s not surf, that’s a lake.
So, the only true standout, and I mean the *only* one, is Thursday morning the 16th of July at The Jetty. It’s a 3ft south swell, and with the glassy wind, it’ll be clean. Don’t expect much, but if you’re desperate for a paddle, that’s your window.
Rusty.
