Table - best surf conditions forecast for The Jetty over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here again. Let’s be real – this 16-day look at The Jetty is a tough one. We’re staring down a long stretch where the ocean is basically flat and uncooperative. There’s a big gap of nothing to start.
The whole pattern is small, weak, and messy. The combined energy of all swells mostly stays in the 20s and 30s, barely ever hitting three digits, which is weak. From Friday the 10th all the way through Friday the 17th, it’s a full week of poor surf with a zero score. The swell is tiny, the period is short, and the wind is working against us.
The first real sign of life, and it’s a faint one, is on Saturday the 18th. The Jetty is a sandbar, and it’s picking up a small south swell at about 3 ft. The wind is light and cross-offshore from the west-southwest, which is a major positive for clean little waves. The energy is moderate (72), but it’s a short, 6-second period. It’s surfable, but it’s very ordinary. It’s the best of a bad lot, but it’s still only a 1 out of 10 day.
After that, it’s back to onshore winds and choppy, lumpy slop for the rest of the window. The swell tries to pick up a bit around the 21st and 22nd, with energy hitting 198 and 153, but it’s all wind-affected and messy. At a beginner-friendly spot like this, those days are just a washout.
The only real call is Saturday morning the 18th. It’s small, but if you’re keen, the light wind and clean conditions might give you a few knee-high rollers. Don’t get your hopes up.
Rusty, out.
