Alright folks, it’s Rusty here, and I’ve gotta be straight with you – this is one of those outlooks where the surf report is more about what *isn’t* happening than what is. We’ve got a solid 16-day window ahead, but the ocean is basically taking a nap. There are no good surf options to be found at North Pier (Narragansett) for the entire period. The water’s sitting at a warm 69° with a temperature anomaly of 0.7°, so it’s about average for the time of year, but that’s where the good news ends.

We’re looking at a long stretch of tiny, weak, and often messy conditions. From Sunday the 12th through to Wednesday the 22nd, we’re stuck with swell heights that barely tickle the 3 ft mark, and most days are way smaller than that. The combined energy is laughable – mostly double-digit numbers like 16 (weak) or 13 (weak), and a lot of days it’s in the single digits. There’s a bit of a pulse on the 21st and 22nd with some 3 ft S swell and combined energy bumping up to 53 and 82 (weak), but even then the wind is cross or cross-offshore, and it’s just not enough to get excited about. The period on those days is a short 6-7 seconds, so it’s all local wind slop, not groundswell.

After that, from the 23rd to the 27th, it fizzles right back out. Swell drops to 2 ft or less, combined energy falls back into the teens or single digits, and the wind stays cross-off but the swell is too small to matter. The only real standout, if you can call it that, is the morning of the 22nd – that 3 ft S swell with moderate cross-offshore wind might look clean, but it’s still tiny and weak. For beginners, it’s maybe manageable, but honestly, it’s not worth paddling out for anyone.

This is a blank run, plain and simple. A few spots are fairly consistent around here, so it’s a bit of a bummer, but forecasts can change. Right now, the setup looks more interesting for a kite than a surfboard.

Rusty.
