Table - best surf conditions forecast for Outside Corner over the next 16 days.

G’day, this is Rusty. Well, we’ve got a solid run of surf coming at Outside Corner, a reef and point set-up that’s exposed to that south-west swell. The water temp is sitting at 80°F, which is right about average for this time of year, so no surprises there.

We kick off on Wednesday, July 8th, with a strong 7ft to 7ft SSW groundswell (combined energy 1915 to 2105), and that’s a heap of power – definitely one for the advanced crew. Winds are offshore from the ESE all day, 15 mph to 19 mph, keeping things clean, but with a period of 15 to 16 seconds, those sets will have serious push and long lulls. The tide and conditions are a bit touchy, so pick your moment.

Thursday, July 9th, is more of the same: similar 7ft SSW swell (energy 2181) and offshore winds. Again, big, grunty surf. Not for the faint-hearted.

Friday, July 10th, the swell holds at 6ft to 6ft from the SW (energy 1729 to 1957), still with fresh offshore winds. Looks clean but still chunky.

Saturday, July 11th, we see a drop to 5ft to 5ft SW swell (energy 1170 to 1226), cleaner with lighter ESE winds in the afternoon. A bit more manageable, but it’s still a long-period groundswell, so the point will reel.

Sunday, July 12th, the swell backs right off to 3ft (energy around 464). Gentle offshore ESE wind, 12 to 13 seconds. Glassy, small, clean – a good day for the bigger boards or a fun cruise on the inside.

Monday, July 13th, the morning is a small 3ft SW swell (energy 574) with moderate offshore wind, but the afternoon is the real standout here. That’s when we get a 3ft SSW groundswell with a massive 21-second period, and the energy shoots up to 1236. A 21-second swell is rare – it’ll pulse through the point with serious power for its size, long lulls, and beautiful lines. The conditions are “excellent for experienced surfers”, so get on it. This is the session to aim for within the first week.

Tuesday, July 14th, the swell jumps back up to 6ft to 6ft SSW (energy 2026 to 2370), with offshore ESE winds. Big, powerful, and clean again.

Wednesday, July 15th, holds at 6ft to 6ft SSW (energy 1633 to 2099), with fresh offshore winds, but the morning has rain showers.

Thursday, July 16th, backs off to 5ft to 5ft (energy 1053 to 1216), and the afternoon session is marked “excellent for experienced surfers” – clean and lined up.

Friday, July 17th, the swell drops to 3ft to 5ft (energy 723 to 927), still clean. The afternoon looks very good.

Over the weekend and into the next week, there’s more to come. Saturday, July 18th, has 5ft to 5ft SSW (energy 990 to 1155), fresh offshore winds but a risk of thunderstorms in the morning.

Sunday, July 19th, is a real highlight for the second week. We’ve got a 5ft to 6ft SSW groundswell (energy 1222 to 1720) with moderate offshore SE winds, and both morning and afternoon are rated “excellent for experienced surfers”. Clean, powerful, and consistent. Mark that one down.

Monday, July 20th, the swell climbs to 7ft SSW (energy 2113 to 2244), but the morning has cross-offshore winds, so it could be a bit bumpy. The afternoon cleans up with offshore winds, making it another excellent session for the experienced crew.

Tuesday, July 21st, holds at 6ft SSW (energy 1179 to 1312), plenty of power, clean offshore winds all day.

Wednesday, July 22nd, drops to 4ft SSW (energy 657 to 666), clean and very good.

Thursday, July 23rd, the swell is down to 3ft to 5ft, with a shorter 8-second period from the SE on the afternoon session, so the energy drops to 585 or 618. Still clean and fun.

So, for the standouts: Monday, July 13th afternoon, with that 21-second groundswell, is pure magic – long, hollow lines on the point and very clean. And then Sunday, July 19th, with solid 6ft SSW swell and perfect offshore wind, is another cracker. Crowds are sometimes a factor here, so keep that in mind.

If you’re not up for the big stuff (over 5ft is too much for beginners, and over 8ft is experts only), then target the smaller days around Sunday, July 12th, or the later part of the run.

This is Rusty, signing off.
