Table - best surf conditions forecast for Outside Corner over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here, lookin’ at what we’ve got cookin’ for the next couple weeks. It’s all about one spot, so let’s break it down.
Right off the bat, we’ve got a solid run of swell building. No waitin’ around; this kicks off with some proper juice. The water temp is sittin’ right around 80°, absolutely perfect for this time of year – no surprises, just comfortable.
Saturday, July 11th is where we start, and it’s a beauty. Outside Corner is pumpin’ with a clean 5ft swell from the SW, a solid 14-second period. That’s proper groundswell with a ton of punch – the combined energy is readin’ a meaty 1386, so there’s plenty of power behind it. The wind is a steady offshore ESE breeze at 15 mph, keepin’ it glassy and lined up. This is advanced territory at that size, so if you know what you’re doin’, this is the standout of the whole run. It’s an exposed reef and point break, and the swell direction is perfect. Crowds can show up here, but with that quality, it’s worth the company.
Sunday the 12th drops a touch, with 3ft swell but still clean. A great option for a more relaxed session, still with that offshore breeze.
Monday the 13th is interesting – a tiny 2ft swell in the mornin’, but look at that period! 23 seconds! That’s super long groundswell. It’ll be fat and straight at a beach break, but Outside Corner bein’ a reef and point, it’ll turn that energy into some weirdly fun, bowlin’ lines. The energy jumps back up to 1086 by the afternoon.
Now, Tuesday the 14th is the real heavyweight. We’re lookin’ at a 6ft to 7ft SSW swell with 17 to 18 second periods. The energy numbers are nuts – 2440 and 2730. This is strong, powerful stuff. Winds stay clean offshore. This is for experts only; anything over 8ft on this run later in the outlook is gonna be a proper beast.
The middle of the week from Wednesday the 15th through to Saturday the 18th stays solid, with swells hoverin’ around 5ft to 7ft and consistent offshore winds. Conditions are labeled marginal at times, but with that wind and swell combo, it’s still very, very surfable at this break. The quality takes a slight dip on the 15th and 16th, but it’s still a long way from flat.
Sunday the 19th brings another standout moment with the afternoon session. The swell jumps to 5ft from the SSW, but the period goes to 20 seconds, pushin’ the combined energy to 2282. That’s a seriously long, powerful groundswell hittin’ that reef. It’ll be a game of patience between sets, but the rides will be unforgettable.
Monday the 20th is the top end of the size scale. We’re talkin’ 8ft SSW swell in the mornin’ with an energy readin’ of 3685 – that’s very, very strong. This is big, heavy, and purely for the experienced crew. The wind stays fresh offshore, so it’ll be clean but intimidatin’.
We taper down into the second week. Tuesday the 21st still has excellent 7ft waves with lighter ESE winds, a great day if the big Monday was too much. From Wednesday the 22nd onwards, things ease back to the 5ft range and smaller. The consistency is good, but the power drops off.
The very end of the run, from Friday the 24th to Sunday the 26th, sees us in the 3ft to 4ft zone with some rain showers and fresh breezes. It’s still surfable, still offshore, but it’s the tail end of the energy. Nothin’ to get too worked up about, but it’ll keep you wet.
Overall, this is a great window. The first week is stacked with quality, especially Saturday the 11th and Tuesday the 14th. After that, it stays surfable but loses a bit of its bite. Get out there early.
Rusty.
