Table - best surf conditions forecast for Fall Bay Reef over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – we’ve got a grim outlook for Fall Bay Reef over the next 16 days. The data shows nothing but poor surf conditions across the entire period, so there’s no standout window to get excited about. We’re looking at a long, flat run here, so if you’re itching to paddle out, you might be better off waiting for the next forecast update. With a break that’s already inconsistent, this kind of blank stretch isn’t unheard of, but it’s still a bummer.
Let’s walk through the first few days. On Thursday, July 9th, we’ve got a tiny 1.0ft swell from the west with a 10-second period, but the water is a balmy 67°F, a massive 8°F warmer than normal – that’s very unusual for this time of year. The wind is light and cross-shore in the morning, glassing off in the afternoon, but the combined wave energy is a weak 20, so there’s just no push. Friday, July 10th, bumps up to 2ft from the west with a 9-second period, and the wind goes offshore in the afternoon (40 energy), but it’s still too weak to bother with. Saturday, July 11th, drops back to 1.0ft from the west-southwest, energy at 20-22… you get the picture.
The biggest swell of the whole run shows up on Tuesday, July 14th, with a 4ft easterly swell at 5 seconds. The energy is 90, which is still weak, and the morning wind is cross-offshore. The afternoon goes glassy, but with that short period, it’s going to be a dribbly, weak mess. Not worth the drive. From July 15th onward, it’s all under 2ft, with energy dropping into the teens and single digits by the end. The second week is even worse, with flatness setting in from July 20th to the 24th – swells of 1ft or less, energy as low as 4. The wind is often offshore or cross-off, but there’s nothing to ride.
Honestly, there’s no point highlighting a break here. The whole 16-day window is a total write-off for Fall Bay Reef. Keep the board in the car, but don’t wax it yet. Forecasts can change, but this one’s a stubborn dud.
