Table - best surf conditions forecast for Putsborough over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – if you’re looking to paddle out at Putsborough over the next 16 days, you’re gonna be disappointed. The whole run is a flat spell. There’s simply no surf worth talking about.
We start off Wednesday the 8th with tiny ankle-biters at 2ft from the west, but the wind is cross-on and the energy is weak (36). The combined energy barely gets into the double digits for most of the run. Thursday morning the 9th goes glassy, which is a tease, but the swell is still a pathetic 2ft. The water temp is 63°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year.
Through the rest of July, the swell stays under 2ft, and often drops to 0.3ft or 0.7ft. The energy values are all below 100 – mostly teens and twenties – which tells you it’s basically flat. There’s a brief moment on Thursday the 23rd where the swell bumps up to 7ft from the west-southwest, but the period is a short, choppy 7 seconds, and the wind is a strong cross-shore at 28 mph. The energy jumps to 456 (moderate), but with messy, lumpy conditions, it’s more of a kite-surfing day than a paddle-surfing day. The setup is a beach, so that short-period, wind-affected junk won’t hold shape.
The rest of the forecast is a long stretch of nothing. From the 8th right through to the 23rd, there’s no standout, no rideable window. The only real pulse is that 23rd, and it’s a mess. For beginners, that 7ft is too big, and for experts, the wind and short period make it a write-off.
So, the long and short of it: leave the board at home, go for a swim, or check back in a few days. Forecasts can change, but right now, it’s a total blank.
Rusty.
