The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the table for Trez-Hir over the next couple of weeks.
To be straight with you, the outlook is pretty grim for a long stretch. The first week and a half is a write-off. We're looking at a solid 10-day gap from the start of the forecast until the 3rd of September where there's nothing worth paddling out for. The conditions are messy, the swell is weak, and the wind is all over the shop. It's a proper blank run.
The only real glimmer of light is right at the end of the period. On Friday the 4th of September, we finally get a proper pulse. The combined energy of all swells directed here jumps to a solid 1107, which is strong and powerful. That's a long-period groundswell coming in from the WNW at 6ft, with a period of 13 seconds, so it's got some serious weight and shape to it. The wind is forecast to be light offshore from the NW, which is exactly what we need to keep it glassy and clean. This is the standout session of the entire forecast. The water temp is sitting around 63°, which is about normal for this time of year, so no surprises there.
Remember, Trez Hir is a spot that rarely breaks, so the fact that it's firing on that Friday is a real treat. That swell is going to be a bit too big for beginners at 6ft, but for the experienced crew, it's going to be a proper session. The earlier part of that day on the 4th has some cross-shore wind, but by the afternoon, it cleans right up. The morning of the 3rd of September has some size but it's blown out by a strong cross-offshore wind, which is a shame.
So, for the next week and a half, don't bother. Save your energy. The only real call is that Friday afternoon, the 4th of September. It's a long way off, so treat it with a bit of caution, but it's the only real swell on the board.
Rusty.
