Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Right, gather 'round, me hearties. Rusty here, and I've had a long look at the charts for Trez Hir. Let's be straight with you – this is a grim outlook, and it's going to be a long, quiet stretch.
The pattern is basically flat and weak. There's a tiny bit of energy on the Saturday morning, July 4th, with some swell from the west at 3.6 ft, but it's a short-period 10-second wind swell, and the combined energy is only 264 (moderate). The day's best look is the afternoon, with a moderate offshore wind from the NNW at 15 mph making for clean lines, but it's still only a 3.3 ft west swell. Don't get your hopes up, it's a "surfable but ordinary" kind of day.
After that, it's a total drought. The swell drops, the wind goes messy, and for a solid week and a half, the scores are all zeroes. You'll see a few pulses of energy, like the 15th of July (Wednesday) morning with a 3.0 ft WNW swell and a moderate offshore wind from the NNW at 12 mph, giving a combined energy of 153 (moderate), but the quality just isn't there. The whole period is littered with "poor surf conditions" and cross-offshore winds.
The one and only standout, if you can call it that, is the very last day of the forecast. On the 19th of July (Sunday morning), it's glassy. The wind is from the WSW at only 3 mph, and it's flat calm. The swell is a tiny 3.0 ft from the WNW, but that glassy surface will make it look a million times better than anything else. It's a "surfable but very ordinary" wave, but with zero wind, it'll be the cleanest thing we've seen in weeks. The combined energy is a modest 112 (weak). For a break that rarely breaks anyway, this is a rare treat.
So, for the hardcore locals only. The first Saturday is a maybe, but the real gem is that glassy Sunday morning on the 19th. Don't waste your time on the rest.
