Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright folks, Rusty here. We’re looking at a proper flat spell to kick things off. The first week and a half is a total washout, nothing doing at Locquirec. Patience, lads. The surf finally shows a pulse from July 13th onwards, so we’ve got a solid run of poor conditions to sit through first.
It’s a long wait, but the second week of July starts to look far more promising. The first real chance to get wet won’t be until Monday, July 13th. Early morning sees a clean 5ft Westerly-northwesterly groundswell rolling in with a long 12-second period, carrying moderate to strong energy (604). The wind is cross-offshore, so the face should be tidy. It’s a bit beefy at 6ft for the afternoon, still clean, but the ‘marginal’ tag suggests it might be tricky with the tide. Still, it’s the first real option in over a week.
Tuesday, July 14th keeps things clean with a cross-off breeze, but the swell drops a touch. The morning offers a solid 5ft on the same Westerly-northwesterly pulse with moderate-to-strong energy (513). The afternoon backs off to 4ft. It’s still clean, but the quality rating slips a bit.
The standout window, without question, is the morning of Thursday, July 16th. The wind goes glassy – dead calm – and we’ve got a clean 4ft groundswell from the West-northwest with moderate energy (256). Conditions will be perfect, clean lines with no chop. For a break that’s fairly consistent and exposed, this is the pick of the entire 16-day run.
Following that, Saturday, July 18th morning gets a mention. The swell is down to 3ft, but we’re looking at clean offshore wind from the Southwest whipping the faces up nicely. Moderate energy (214) for the size. It will be a fun little session if the swell holds.
The water temp is sitting at 63°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so you might get away without a thick spring suit.
Signing off, Rusty.
